Pilton Party 2019

aside from back when the coach station used to be at the top of the hill and you had to walk through the village (i think - i remember having to walk miles down hill through a village that i guess must have been Pilton) to get to the festival - i've never actually been to Pilton.

if we manage to get ourselves there a little early would it be possible to have a wander around the village, maybe have a pint in The Crown and then walk back up the main road to the entrance?

or is everything blocked off and really just should get ourselves straight to red gate?

i also found a bus route, 669 i think, that goes from Glastonbury Town to Pilton, should this be running as normal tomorrow?

?

The Crown opens at 6pm in the evening. It opens at lunchtime too but closes for the afternoon. Of course the village is open. Everything is back to normal here. You can walk from the Crown down Shop Lane to the stile that will lead you past the tithe barn and down into the farm. From here you can turn right and down to red gate to enter the party. I wouldn’t suggest walking from the village down the main road to red gate. It’s not got a pavement.

Oh and the bus will run as normal. There is a free shuttle bus to the event but I don’t know when that starts/finishes.

judging by the way they are trying to push the tickets ... we might be the only groups in the field :) ... Along with Michael and Emily ... I assume they are guaranteed attendees ?

Michael is always there. Usually being mobbed by people wanting selfies. Emily and Nick are there too but a little less in demand.

    • I saw that the payment method is contactless wristbands - I understand you collect them at the festival site and can top them up there as well? Yes, there are top up points, keep the recepe if you want to withdraw the money in the end   How much does food and drink usually cost at the festival? We would like to know how much money we should prepare for the festival. Beer, Wine etc. 5€, Gin tonic, Whishkey Cola were 6-6.5€, food 10€    Is there a bus from the festival site to the city center? And are there any stops along the way? No offical info yet, but ussualy there are free festival buses from Ljubljanica to festival site, with few stops on the way. Nice to get to the festival but crowded from festival back to the city.   Where is the best place to find an Uber/Bolt to return from the festival site? Petrine ulica   Are there any shaded areas to take a break from the strong sun? Yes, i think there is some.
