I found this curious and wanted second opinions.

The Killers just announced a November/December tour of Australia, and at some of the Aussie shows, they'll play Hot Fuss in full. I thought it was just an exclusive for their recent Las Vegas residency, so I'm surprised both at it getting a run in Oz and that there was no UK Hot Fuss in full concert when they were here in June/July.

Am I allowed to be a tad surprised at this?

I'm also surprised, though I suppose now they're going down this road they could fill in a couple of Hot Fuss shows over here in November? Or even January, Green Day are doing their double"anniversary" thing into Asia next year

That's true. I did see it announced GD will be doing Dookie & American Idiot in full for their newly announced Australian tour in March 2025.

Quite funny how the big cities get their new album in full show + a hot fuss full show (ie 2 dates)

The smaller cities with only 1 date just get a new album in full show 😂

New album is greatest hits though!

Although curiously they aren't doing that in full either. Spirit, which is one of the 3 new songs written for Rebel Diamonds, has barely featured in contention.

Tour underway down under, with a cover of the INXS classic Don't Change to close out the main set.

Imagine it will be a particularly static setlist for the Rebel Diamonds shows. They seemed to lose their nerve a little after the first few shows - knew Brandon wasn't hugely keen on Battle Born as a song these days, but begs the question why they even brought it back to begin with. False hope of the highest order!

I still find it a curio Australia is the only place not called Las Vegas getting the Hot Fuss in full shows.

Presumably still with Ted and Jake on guitar/bass rather than flying out Dave & Mark just for those dates but not the other Aussie shows.

Yeah, no sign of Dave the other night in Queensland and still feel Mark will only ever play the special occasions close to home going forward.

Not a bad set the other night, per se, but feel there's a much deeper roster of tracks they could pull upon with a degree of semi-regularity. They've actually played a lot of great tunes on the Rebel Diamonds run - Lightning FieldsThis Is Your LifeBattle BornSam's TownMiss Atomic BombSleepwalkerSpiritIn Another Life - that rarely see the light of day, but it would be lovely if they were among the others that get a remarkable amount of airtime - I could happily have them retire The Way It WasDying Breed, hell, even A Dustland Fairytale and Spaceman from regular rotation to get a few deeper cuts in there.

If you've got Mr. BrightsideSomebody Told MeAll These Things That I've DoneWhen You Were Young, Read My MindHuman, Runaways and Caution as fixtures, you've got a dozen to play around with there.

(Yes, I am still bitter about swapping my Manchester #3 ticket for a Manchester #1 one in hindsight. Apologies for the ramble.)

I should guess again. Dave and Mark were indeed in Sydney for the Hot Fuss show earlier having not played the Rebel Diamonds show before it.

Well, what do you know.

Dave clearly is more amenable to the touring schedule given he did the British shows for Rebel Diamonds. Perhaps there may be contractual situations as to why they only do certain shows though.

It is unusual tbf to have totally different line-ups in the same city. Rotating songs is one thing but this on top is certainly an unusual development.

I find it very interesting that they've added Vegas shows for the Hot Fuss "Anniversary" in January, so crossing over into the new year. Got to wonder if maybe we will get a couple of them over here like Australia have? That, and Bloc Party, have set the precedent for these album tours crossing over two calendar years and being more like an anniversary of "the time" rather than strictly the year.

Bloc Party seem to be taking Silent Alarm nostalgia a long way tbf. They'd already done an in full anniversary tour in 2018/19 (I should know I was at the Manchester 2019 gig).

I'll be honest, I'm still holding out hope Brandon will eventually change his tune and do a Battle Born show in full.

But I imagine the only other record they'll give this treatment to is Sam's Town, potentially as the bedrock of a proper tour in 2026.

1 Sam's Town

2 Enterlude

3 When You Were Young

4 Bling (Confession of a King)

5 For Reasons Unknown

6 Read My Mind

7 Uncle Jonny

8 Bones

9 My List

10 This River Is Wild

11 Why Do I Keep Counting

12 Exitlude

13 Somebody Told Me

14 Quiet Town

15 Shot at the Night

16 The Man

17 Runaways

18 Caution

19 All These Things That I've Done

20 Human

21 Mr. Brightside

We've said that we'd probably go to Vegas for a Sam's Town show if it was the only one, but obviously would much prefer it to come here!

They did it in Vegas as an exclusive in 2016 for the ten year anniversary tbf. So it wouldn't be unheard of.

Even if you'd also want to hope it doesn't come during the World Cup, set to take place in America in 2026 and likely going to lead a huge rise in the airfare to go there in that time.

Looks like a couple of sneaky surprises on Melbourne #1 the other night - unexpected played My God for just the sixth time ever and wheeled out Iva Davies to do Icehouse's Electric Blue, which is genuinely one of the most underrated singles of the eighties for me.

Not too many other changes - the Hot Fuss show was the same as in Sydney, and Melbourne #2 seemed to be a mix of an average Rebel Diamonds II show with elements of Rebel Diamonds III. (But not the banger elements.)

I am curious as to what is planned tbf. I thought the plan was Brandon's solo LP given he said as such in an interview with NME this time last year, yet they're finishing the Vegas Hot Fuss residency with a few shows next month and just announced an extra show in California as a warm-up for a February festival in Arizona.

Guess we'll find out more in due course or something.

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
