All that with the infrastructure right behind them. They were too professional to say so but this is basically a money grab by EE, with GFL falling into line. Very disappointing to have this announced half way through a festival. CND will miss out on donations as well. Feels less than Glasto. What so they won't let the folk in the green fields charge stuff for folk either?? Bloody hell
Hutchmaster
So essentially, unless I want to stick around the EE tent for a few hours, there's nowhere to leave my big powerbank to charge?
kalifire
Caved and bought an EE battery. Just like they wanted. Sigh. Felt like having a go at the person who sold me it but it’s not their fault is it. Really shitty decision by Glastonbury.

Same, disappointed to let them "win" but can't do without me phone for the rest of the weekend. Wonder if there'll be any blowback from this? Yeah, incredibly shit decision. The only way there will be blow back is if we give it to them. Social media makes it very easy to contact EE, Emily and the festival organisation to let them know this is not ok. Email is there for those how don’t want to use the usual platforms. Rufus Gwertigan
The lock ups in Pennards were certainly charging phones on the Sunday.
rottencrotch
I finished my shift at 12pm on Pennards, and they got given the go-ahead to put the charging kit back on later that afternoon. EE did tweet saying that they were not responsible for the shut down and the decision was reversed.
