Surely if you still have a paper driving licence you are much, much older than 18? Photo driving licences came in in 1998.

 

I can't remember the last place that wasn't photographic identification.

Thanks for the replies. One more Q. When we arrive when do you queue to get wrist bands? On entry to campsites from the car parks or not until you go into the actual arena?

Last year in Emperors camping you parked your car up then queued to get into campsite where they gave you your band.

I'd assume general camping was the same.

In general you join the queue to get into the festival and they put the band on as you go through the checkpoint

I've got someone's ticket but they won't be arriving until afternoon whereas I'm going in the morning. The plan was to meet them at the entrance but I've got their shuttle bus ticket as well. Do you think I'll be able to leave it with some one at the shuttle buses to give to them or do you think the driver would let them on without out it if I said I'd meet them at the other end with the ticket?

Failing that I'm guessing they'll still be able to pay on the bus on the day?

Are we likely to have to queue for long for the live in vehicle field if we arrive early on Friday?  Would v early beat coming in lunchtime do you think?

They're normally not to bad getting people into the live in vehicle fields, they've got their own entry point with deer lodge and emperors, away from general entry

What's the crack with taking soft drinks into the arena? Looking at the info pack it says 'sealed plastic only'...cant remember if you can take cans of soft drinks in or not...thoughts?

Should be fine Grump.

I took a 2 litre of Coke in last year as Pepsi is not the choice of my generation.

They had a quick check that it was sealed.....which it was.

What sort of time do most people arrive on the Thursday? Is there a lot waiting for the gates open at 9, or is it fairly steady? Think we're likely to arrive about 10.30-11ish and wondering if we're likely to be queuing for a while or not

It's usually fairly steady through the day, there will be an initial rush when the doors open.

We will be leaving about 6am tomorrow. That should get us down for around 11am. 

Hopefully it's not too busy and plenty of good camping spots left.

We are leaving at 6am as well. Picnic made for the journey or to eat in the que to get in

We will need to go fast to beat you. We're heading from Aberdeen.

There will be loads of decent camping space left at that time, they only sell around 50% of the capacity as Thursday tickets so it'll only be around half full by Thursday night

Quick question, are the bars cash or vouchers like T in the park?

Roughly what are the prices like for food and drinks.

Do they check that the name on the ticket matches your ID on entry. My friend has bought one off someone else so will differ.
