My Worst Nightmare

Recommended Posts

Moved into a new apartment last weekend, so ordered a new broadband service the week before moving in. Vodafone. Don't bother. Asked for modem to be delivered to Mrs Moths work because it needed to be signed for. Courier let any old Tom Dick or Harry sign for it and it promptly disappeared!! 2nd "Priority delivery"... 3 to 6 days delivery!!!! To top it off the line, which we were told was connected on Sep 30 is dead, up to 3 days for a techie to take a look!!!!!

So effin angry right now!!! Oh well bought extra data for the mobile ahead of the ticket sale and hoping its up to the task! Still got others in the group trying, but our chances are cut :sorry:

Thanks! My local is not open though unfortunately, circumstances dictate it's my phone or nothing! Was thinking about hotspotting my laptop through my phone but connectivity beats ease of use I think.

Do you mean you're considering using your phone directly rather than hotspotting?  If that's the choice, I would definitely hotspot. The faster copy+paste on the laptop more than makes up for the tiny extra latency involved in tethering.

Even better, go somewhere with proper Internet.

So sorry to hear this, hope your mate gets lucky for you, maybe trying at your local library tonight would be a good idea.
Charm x

I pretty much did this when I had a delay in broadband arriving when moving house. Only person in the uni library at 8:30am Sunday.

They have wifi at all sorts of cafes and stuff now tho. Plus, not sure about other providers but O2 have that app with a map of places they provide wifi. I'd make 4G a last resort.

I'm stuck using a 3g 4g phone this year- I'm not as effective at refreshing using it, but a fair few people have had success getting tickets on their phone, so you never know.

    • We’ve a friend  who has hens and sells eggs for two quid for six. So much tastier than supermarket ones. She has an honesty box outside her house and has now expanded into selling them to hotels and the local butchers shop. Quite a decent wee business
    • Curiously a rumour has turned up that Barcelona are now interested in Rodri. So could make Real Madrid and Man City are suddenly both in need of a central midfielder.    ... Assuming this move to Arsenal for Bruno Guimaraes ends up being processed before those two may need to enter the conversation.
    • I think Thunderbolts probably had one of the more interesting villains for an MCU movie. I was actually a bit creeped out by Void. I'm a massive horror movie fan, and I can't think of another time in the last couple of years where a character legit scared me like he did.    Brand New Day was a good time. A great villain choice as it played into Parker's insecurities. Castle was a strange inclusion but the dynamic between him and Parker was great. Castle must have been delighted to have someone who never seen themselves as superior to him like Murdoch pretty much always did.
    • Certainly the fact Bruce had disasters at West Brom and Blackpool has hurt his chances. Maybe he'll go mentor his son now he's a manager at Rotherham.    Maybe the passive aggressive comment about Howe being "that fella who got Bournemouth relegated" also counts as it's own comment that aged very poorly.
    • When I was in the cinema to watch The Odyssey a few weeks ago, I saw a trailer for a film called One Night Only. Premise is a rom-com but with a backdrop that it's the one night of the year where non-marital sex is legal.   Some of the background mechanics as to how this works as per the reviews seem creepy and like something a lot of people wouldn't just accept and go with. How you marry that to a rom-com narrative is bizarre.
