This could just be me but compared to another muddy year (2014) did anyone else think they just gave up a bit this year trying to battle the mud? esp around the pathways? I swear in 2014 there always seemed to be staff putting out chippings/sawdust to try and mitigate the build up but I barely saw that this year, they dumped a tonne of it by the other stage before james(thats what held up the set) but really didnt notice it in many other areas......just me being blind or did they truly not do as much as they have in the past when its got muddy?

I saw loads and loads of people putting chippings out, they even let us have some for our tent area.

Kidz Field was manicured to perfection all weekend. They were relentless against the elements.

In 2014 it seemed the cabaret area had constant attention, this year I went through and it didn't look like it had been done once   Although some effort had been made on the other side of the bridge to scrape up and pile the mud, which did seem to work.

They did the Pyramid pit and the Kidzfield with straw but there was talk amongst the crew of dodgy contaminated woodchip that would all have to come up again afterwards and if that was the case then you can see why thats not the best option.

According to Michael at his Q&A they had bought all of the woodchip available in the SW of England and couldn't get any more in before the end of the fest.

He also said it would cost close to £1m to rectify the damage to the land, but by 1st Sept it would be back to normal and you wouldn't know there'd been anything happen to the land.

I saw some odd stuff in some of the wood chips brightly coloured bits that looked like plastic.

Whilst I didn't get to several places that I wanted to, this area saved me.   I know there was a lot of mud in some areas but Kidz field, acoustic stage and our (family camping) local bar, Cockmill were pretty good.  Seating areas and grass.  We ate several meals there sat with ale from the bar.  A mission of a trek from the car park though.

I saw it being laid down several times, though the park stands out as some guy was being a knob and dancing too close to the whirler things that distribute them(?), he was probably about 2 inches away from getting minced. I also nearly stood on a 2 inch piece of glass that was put down by the same machine.

Not too sure what people are expecting in terms of managing that mud..?

On arrival on Wednesday through Ped gate A, I saw a huge amount of chippings being put down. The downpour we had Saturday morning was the real nail in the coffin.

Very brave of the festival to put such huge quantities of wood chip down given how much of a ballache it will be to rectify.

I know what you mean, just a small incline but I went up on the Sunday night and everyone was getting stuck, ended up helping people down or up and not really watching the stage.

I'd like to see them double up some of the metal walkways. There are definitely a few where this could be done.

Gate B was muddy and flooded to the point of being dangerous at 2pm LAST Monday afternoon. THIS Monday afternoon at 4pm it was just as bad. Someone really dropped the ball on that one, as a single piece of metal trackway and/or a single load of chippings would have sorted it.
