Paulk2904
I honestly think they should take a year out next year. Would show that they've taken notice of all the negatives that happened and would mean they'd have a lot of time to get their shit sorted. 2 years should be long enough to prove to the fans and the council that they can in fact plan and organise a safe and secure festival with a good lineup. I've heard more people say they wouldn't return next year if it's at Strathallan than folk who would attend, so the ticket sales (if it were to go ahead) would be diabolical. They need to downsize a bit, maybe take it down to 60,000 capacity and take a good look at stage setups and lineup placements. Also there are too many pointless fairground rides in the arena, that shitey Ghost Train took up a lot space which could've been used for more space to move about. Too many times there were people caught in a crush going back and forth from stages, and I think it's ridiculous having an alternating dance act then rock act then dance act again (e.g Afrojack > War on Drugs > David Guetta) as it means the sound guys have to keep changing the way the sound is (it constantly sounded shit at most stages), and the people who like the EDM DJs will have to keep going and coming back causing more crushes. If they just had a dedicated stage for that kind of music on a certain day then that would solve that problem. Maybe one day Radio 1 stage could be used for EDM/Electronic acts (that don't fit the Slam Tent) and King Tuts could be band orientated, then the next day switch the stages around or something. There was also fuck all to do after the music finished. Last year we had the Slam Tent open a bit longer and the Palm Stage and some Silent Disco's etc. but absolutely nothing this year, that just caused large amounts of traffic coming out of the arena due to the tight as fuck walkway. That bottleneck area just came to a complete halt for way too long each night which caused people to get pissed off and rip barriers down, charge up the hill and was pretty dangerous for the people involved. They also need to get their lineup out a lot sooner as people no longer trust T to book it in advance before any acts have been announced. At least 1/4 of the lineup before Xmas would give people an idea of what it'd be like and would potentially get more ticket sales in for the Xmas period. Drip feeding us announcements starting at the end of Feb is not the way to do it, especially after this year, as they will be looking at festivals elsewhere who will have most of their lineups out by that point. If they took a year out then it would also give them time to figure out how to get around the bus/parking situation. Someone mentioned using the park & rides just outside of the area and use those as a point for dropping off, which could then use shuttle buses to get to and from the festival. If they do go ahead next year, they'll have to get it absolutely spot on or else the festival will most likely be finished after that. Taking time out would probably be taken in a positive way from most people, and could potentially save the festival from dying out. It's too big to go down the path of RockNess, so hopefully the fact they haven't mentioned anything about tickets for next year means they have decided to do the right thing and take a long hard look about what the next steps for T are. Can't really disagree with any of that. A year out really would be the best thing for the festival right now I think.
brady92
Totally disagree. If T takes a year out it will be finished as a festival. I agree though that reducing the size and capacity for a few years can work. Let's make the whole site as compact as possible some of the walks this year from tent to stages was horrible. My legs are a still aching and I'm a fit 20 something that plays football 3 times a week.
xtrmntr75
I agree with what folks have been saying about the fairground. Was there any need for it being so close to the real music.

kezzawizz
Agree, plus what I've said before is if there's need for that level of distraction, maybe a music festival isn't your ideal weekend. Ghost train, waltzers, seriously, Wtf in a reduced size area?? Also all of the irrelevant crappy stalls? In a venue the size of Strathallan, it's crazy to be allocating space to shite fairground crap over paying punters.... I agree with what folks have been saying about the fairground. harryomatic
I think next year we could have any from Muse, Mumfords, a big rapper (Jay Z, Eminem and Kanye I think all have albums in the works god help us), or someone completely different. kingcrawler
I still think Snow Patrol might headline. They're not really big enough anymore but I could see Geoff Ellis going for them again.

harryomatic
If Kings of Leon have a new album out they could be in with a shout. And to be fair they haven't played since 2009.
harryomatic
Lana Del Rey also has an album out soon. Would be good to get her on the bill. Tuts headliner against say Muse/Blur on main and Disclosure/Deadmau5 on R1
kingcrawler
Gorillaz are going into the studio in September, not sure what this means for Blur being a possibility next year.

richardashcroft
Gorrilaz would certainly get me to buy a ticket cos if it's another dance electronically orientated artist I think il be back to beni this year might have just ended my 14 year association with titp
Etodd22
Alright guys. I'm a new member and thought I would join the chat. Think Muse & Florence are dead cert for next year, be good if chemical brothers, foals, the strokes and tame impala were there too. Be good if T would experiment and get acts like Iron Maiden or Tool for next year ha! In my dreams tho!
devilman
If you like Tool and Maiden you are really wasting your time at T. They're only a year or two away from banning musical instruments entirely. Laptops and CDs only. Muse were poor in 2010 so they need to come back and do it properly but I'm not sure they will be back.
Etodd22
Aye you're right! I've been going to T since 2008 and the past 3 years it's been on the decline with the acts. I don't even think T has sold out since 2008, could be wrong.

Think Muse did their tour this year very much with the idea they didn't need to or plan to be in Europe around T time, they very clearly with the sheer amount of festivals being done this year didn't opt for T and it's not like FF where they weren't around. I would hazard a guess they were asked as Ellis wouldn't have chose NG instead, he was purely as there was no one else.

Cocky19
Benicassim have announced dates for 2016, 14th of July to 17th of July so presume T will be the 8th to the 10th next year.
Ahthing
Always is between the 8th and 13th - definitely will be 8-10th if it goes ahead. Think it's very fishy that they still haven't released any details like they normally do about next year...
