Rather strangely if you look at the Shap forecast on accuweather above its totally different to the one at hackthorpe which is 2 mins from the festival !

I'll take thus one

http://m.accuweather.com/en/gb/hackthorpe/ca10-2/weekend-weather/327492

Think there is some gremlins on the original link? If you type Shap in (even overwriting Shap) it refreshes to identical to the Hackthorpe one. I also just checked Lowther which is also the same, make sure I wasn't going potty or accu had all of a sudden became amazingly cloud specific accurate!

Its been around 13-16c for a while here (15mile east of Lancaster) but the feel is a lot warmer, gonna be a belter!

Met Office says it's going to be a bit grim all week....but brighten up on Thursday.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Staying breezy on Wednesday but showers will be lighter and more scattered. Drier on Thursday with sunny spells before the threat of further showery rain by Friday. Staying cool throughout.

:phew:

The main bit on the local news on breakfast tv was the fact that a month's woth of rain has fallen last night and more is due today... luckily no flooding reported yet

Good start to the week then !

its raining now, but its only light.  The rain last night was heavy, but i'd not say it was a months worth!

in July a months worth of rain isn't as much as say a months worth in February so it will be fine red hot and sunny see you lot in the fields.

At last there's some forecasts on tv which makes things seem a bit brighter.

Thursday looks pretty good all day, cool but not raining which is a bonus. If ur camping take your onsies cos they're saying thru the nights gonna be very cool

Yeh BBC news seems to be insisting that all will be well.

Still getting nervous though lol I hate unrelenting rain during festivals dont mind showers or a few hours of rain but it get old quick when it doesnt stop.

    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
