i think i'm actually going to attend the efests main meet now to put names to faces so that we can recognise each other at the whisky bar. mainly cos i like talking to people who have an interest in whisky - amongst most of my friends its usually me waxing lyrical and them looking at me in bemusement.

i mean even if their selection behind the bar is shit it sounds like we've got a fair range being brought with

Speaking of which, I hope they have some Hibiki this year. Beautiful stuff.

I got my grandad some of that for Christmas. It has elevated my status to Favourite Grandchild for at least the next three years and he won't even let my brother drink it. So it's good, yeah?

Yep. All varieties. Without sounding like Rolf Harris, the 12 year old is outstanding.

yeah the american oak is fairly light - and affordable - as far as single malts go which is therefore better for sharing with fellow campers. one of my regular camp mates always brings teachers for similar reasons which does the job, but my preferences are (unfortunately for me) slightly more expensive...

Did you spot it was on special in Tesco for £25. Bargain!

Good stuff! I got slightly hooked on trying the various different Bourbons at Bourbon street when that was there! Hopefully more of the same then? :D

(Admittedly I also did this of a morning on route to finding breakfast rather than at night which this seems to be aimed at :P)

I love a good bourbon.  Elijah Craig 12 year old is fantastic, neat over ice.  I've never tried any of their older ones, given that the 20 year old starts off at about £120 a bottle!

well if its patch on Bourbon Street , god rest its soul , it will be fine with me.

Was one of my favorite places in 2010. Great booze and some cracking bands  .Wish they would resurrect it.

This.  Loved it in there.  But then I am a bit of a fiend for whisky and bourbon.  Relieved me of plenty of cash they did.
