Interested to see how the new album goes, 'Opposites' as a whole was a bit naff in my opinion and I am a fan. They're great live though

This is the closest we've got so far to what the new album could sound like. But there's always the chance whatever this is won't even end up being anywhere near the album.

Still, it sounds like Toys Toys Toys meets anything off Blackened Sky, which can only be good a sign.

Next year or the year after. They've done it the proper way. Grafted.

In the next year or two

The reason I'd say next year is because Glasto won't have them 2nd. I guess kind of in a way with Flo, new album, headline or not, ended up at Glasto, I'm still surprised that she's doing a sub slot and it's only Glasto and no other fest mind but judging by other promoters words, they would've headlined the others, well T anyway, MB was a little less direct. I probably won't be there but big booking, kind of highlights what pull Glasto can have over others for some.

These guys are incredible live. The best infact. It needs to be seen to be believed tho. Cause there more recent albums ain't great. But they are also the albums that have taken them to headline status. They would dominate that pyramid headline slot,

Yeah, they'd have never have got to where they have if they didn't go a bit mainstream. If they continued along the lines of the 1st 3 and didn't enter Puzzle etc they'd never get there.

All for Biffy headlining, wasn't a big fan until I saw them in '11. It does make me laugh when someone doesn't like an act or has hardly heard their stuff so in their opinion they shouldn't headline.

Is going down a storm when topping the bill at Reading and IOW not enough these days? :P

They were a strong third-down act at G'11 and have only grown since then.

yep, totally agree, i think they would nail it and earned it the right way! maybe next year

Not that I don't like them. I'm barely aware of them and that makes me think they're not big enough to headline that's all. I'm happy to admit I may have misjudged this but I only know one of their songs....and I don't think that was a huge hit either....

your a funny guy ! hahaha

Biffy have gotten progressively worse in my eyes since Infinity Land, I still have a soft spot for them but the older songs are gradually being dropped in favour if the new ones sadly :(

I would say Infinity Land is their best album. But they've definitely had some bangers in recent years: Living is a problem from Puzzle, That Golden Rule from Only Revolutions, Victory over the Sun from Opposites...

They were for a number of years my favourite band, but Opposites (Though definitely not a bad album) sort of lost me a little, a few great tunes on that album but as a whole they could have cut it to one disc. I don't listen to it so much anymore as it's probably my 2nd to least favourite of theirs but I owe Only Revolutions in getting me into them as when I was just leaving secondary school I couldn't stop playing that album. My favourites personally would be Vertigo of Bliss and Puzzle. Absolutely gutted I didn't make any of the Glasgow Barras shows last year.

Just noticed this, sounds great. Fingers crossed it gets used..

Exactly my thinking.

I think if they don't get it next year, it won't happen for them. Glasto is the next logical step and they won't choose Download over Glasto if offered it. I see a bit of a AF happening when they may do a couple of easy sell out London warm shows and Glasto only here.

We could quite easily have Radiohead and Biffy headlining next year, which would be 2/3 of my ultimate festival headliners, so fingers crossed!

Would love that. Looking forward to checking out a lot of new music this year, but got a feeling next year's lineup could be a good one for me in terms of my favourite acts appearing.

If the new album is out late this year or early next, they wouldn't just do that, there'd be an arena tour for sure. I'm putting my money on that being Feb/March again.

The issue with it is "London", the first tour after the album release will have plenty of dates up and down the country. I can't see them doing only London and Glasto dates the year they release a new album, they're too much about giving all they possibly can to their fans.

I'm basing that on expecting the album at a similar time to when Opposites was released, or even a bit earlier.

If it comes out later in the year, ie just before Glasto, then the arena tour will probably come after festival season, in which case I'd agree with you on the warm ups. Though I'd guess at more intimate venues with a ticket ballot or something.

Yeah, I mean, when I want to book "easy sell out London warm ups", I always turn first to the 20,000 capacity O2 Arena.

It seems to be you're one of the posters who's purposely trying to make an arse of themselves.

When as act sold out 80k Reading day tickets, headlined T and IOW (always bull undercards then yeah 20K is fine. Sold it alright last time within a week (for those that went I'm sure it was actually less than a week, this is just for eg.)

Whereas you seem perfectly happy doing it unintentionally ;)

Could Biffy push a Wembley stadium show?

Yeah. They'd already probs sell out stadiums in Scotland, probably this time next year.
