They're not just going to keep moving up venues off the back of a few hits at the end of the last decade. They should do well to maintain their status into album 9 and not go the way of Stereophonics or Manics, really, and unless Glastonbury have a soft spot for them thru past appearances and secret sets then I can't see them being near the top of the list for next year. To clarify, not saying they're not headline sized but the number of festivals that will want them to headline on the next album is dwindling.

Also noting all of the people stating IOW was a successful headline slot for future arguments about the validity of coheadline slots.

Playing 4 times in 5 years with one being a secret set, you'd probably edge towards them being big enough fans of them. I think it's next year or probably not at all for them.

Indeed, the bookers clearly like Biffy. They less of a risk than other regular acts to be "pushed up" having headlining everything else but V. As long they bring out an album that keeps them about the same popularity and basically not aleinating any current fans more than anything else, Glasto will want them. (Sadly this means not going back to the first 3 albums inspiration.)

Friday night 2016 will be Biffy Clyro's for sure!

On that note, if Biffy don't headline next year, QotSA should. I can see their next album being released a similar time to Biffy's next effort.

Yeah I can't see it not being them at the minute. The Puzzle, Only Revs and Opposites stuff that gradually went more mainstream is what got them there, they'll know it'll need to stay on that side at least to get to a Glasto slot I reckon, they could return to the older side to return and headline Download after.

I agree they should, don't see it happening sadly. Not sure when they're next album will be out though given the comments about them being on a break, I was expecting late this year/early next year but wouldn't be surprised if it's a bit later now.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
