I'm happy to help... I saw too many people last year sit it all out and then not get one because of reasons like this.

As a software/web developer myself, I find it absolutely unbelievable that to release one ticket to a competition winner they have to manually open the normal ticket page for a minute while they go through and get their ticket. There would be a completely separate system for this. Therefore this is utter bollocks.

Right-so he bought them last week and these pages going up/down have literally nothing to do with it?

Sorted

My point was, he's not the only person they are sorting out with tickets on the side. There could be entire groups of people (locals etc) that they are doing it for at all different times. That's why the pages go up for 5 mins and then down again.

I also work in web development and it almost certainly isn't 'testing'. They are opening up for specific transactions in my opinion.

Agreed, they could do this on the phone in 10 seconds without baiting the efests crowd!

I've won a comp before they just posted mine, no logging on needed

I know a couple and they claim they do? Could be more friends than neighbours?

Residents of Pilton, Pylle and (I think) Evercreech do get free tickets, or a cash alternative. I'm certain of this because a couple of friends, who live in Pilton, have kindly transferred one of their tickets to me, that's how I'm going this year.

HIYA GUYS

I've been keeping up (creepily lurking) with this thread since last weekend but thought I'd finally show my face!

Re: local tickets - A good friend of mine lives in Pilton and they get free tickets every year. I live about 20mins away from site and can buy locals tickets but I think it's normally just Sunday ones? I've never bothered with it before, just get my tickets in the main sale!

And thinking even more logically, this is see tickets who take phone orders all the time, admittedly not normally for glasto, but still, they have the systems capability

I concur.....with no web development experience whatsoever! Why would a local want to book himself on a coach from London/Brighton???? Berserk!!

I would imagine that Pennards Hill would fall into the free ticket area - there would be no need to buy,

If they actually lived on Pennards Hill then they wouldn't need a ticket as after the fence is put up they would just realise they're already in the festival.

I had See tickets phone me up in May on my first Glasto' to ask if I wanted tickets still as I had written a letter (to ME at WFarm) expressing how upset I was with the IT crashing blah blah blah so I paid for them over the phone. Not sure if this was before or after any secret resale as wouldn't have been aware at the time...so it is unlikely they are opening for the odd sale (but can't be 100% dismissed either)

btw *2005*
