Glasgow Summer Sessions 2015

Glasgow Summer Sessions will be taking place at Bellahouston Park again this year.

Calvin Harris is holding his own mini festival called 'Outside' on Sunday 30th August at Bellahouston as part of Summer Sessions.

The end of August seems quite late for these gigs to be taking place. I guess they don't need to rely on getting one of the V or R&L headliners as they've already got all of them (except Calvin) playing in Scotland this summer (and Calvin was available on a later date anyway).

I do think that we'll see one, or maybe even two, of Metallica, Robbie Williams or Florence and the Machine if we get anymore acts.

Anyone outside of that would come as a minor surprise.

Ellie Goulding, John Newman, Disciples and Burns announced as the supports for Calvin Harris. Pretty strong lineup if you ask me.

My first thought when I saw these dates was Robbie Williams given he's doing an outdoor European tour over summer but a winter UK arena tour from him wouldn't surprise me either.

The only other acts I could maybe see getting a slot would be Muse given that they haven't played in Scotland for a few years or Paolo Nutini (playing on the hometown angle of things).

Try this link here. Not sure about the sell out? I know his 2 gigs at the Hydro went quick, but i think that was because there was limited standing.

Plenty of bands do a couple of dates there and come back again soon after.

We'd taken the 'over-18s' from Ticketmaster, but it's now changed to over-16s on Ticketmaster so we're changing what we have here.

Paolo Nutini, what a boring announcement.

Saw him at Big Weekend last year and he was ok. Then saw him at TITP and thought he was awful, unless there's some other good people playing before then I think I will give this a miss.

I'd say it's a decent enough announcement. Will shift tickets, even if he doesn't get a decent undercard, and more importantly, it seems he's not doing anything else in the summer. Which makes him a bit of a coup.
