SOLD OUT!

I'm still staggered by how quickly this sold out and the impact that has. Whether you get a ticket or not is no longer down to perseverance, just sheer pot luck. 26 minutes of refreshing every second and I either got the 'connection timed out' page or the hold page.

In contrast, I got through to buy coach tickets twice within 5 minutes. It makes me wonder if coaches are now the way to go.

As I see it I gather that the:

-15,000 coach package tickets sold out in 15 minutes

-120,000 remaining tickets sold out in 25 minutes

Meaning that technically the 135,000 tickets sold out in 40 minutes.

Sounds about right to me, unless any are held back for PR purposes.

Definitely trying for coaches next year, I got through straight away for friends but thought I'd hold out for today. Luckily I got tickets this morning but it was so close.

You got yours?

Yes mate, we wanted 17, and we got 12, I think, so I'm pretty satisfied with that. Can't knock it really. Got the main ones we wanted.

I see you got yours, nice one scruffs, if you ever feel like dropping your man of mystery air and meeting up in June, would be good. if not, totally respect that too. This evening, I am full of benevolence to all mankind ;)

The thing that amazes me is that this year more than any I saw loads of people moaning and generally looking bored shitless. I was sort of hoping that this may of meant that tickets might move slower this year, especially considering the only strong contender to play is Fleetwood Mac, which isn't going to appeal to the moaners.

26 minutes is a crazy time to sell out.

Glastonbury is a great weekend and most on this forum enjoy it to the full. Got a horrible feeling the dickheads will soon outnumber the people that love it.

I really hope I'm wrong

tbh i don't think it's a matter of demand this time so much as massively improved server-side situation. the queue page loaded almost all the time like lightning and not so many screaming complaints of failures once inside like last year

in fact it might be also a drop in demand not flooding the system that's the cause - but either which way it just ran incredibly smoothly and quickly - even if there had been more demand in previous years it would have sold out at the same rate as it could only handle so many transactions at a time

maybe this time it will turn out to only be the keen who were ready and on the ball at 9am who have got in, and it'll be amazing without the only-turned-on-at-9.30 crowd? can't all be negative

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
