So from tomorrow on the focus change from the little names to the super-little names? Based on previous announcement I really thought Ryan Adams and Jose Gonzalez can still fit in.

The announcements aren't happening in order of size. We might as well get James Blake, Disclosure and Stereophonics in the same announcement as Kovacs.

I know, Im just expressing a little bit disappointment with how things are going.

I know every batch they announced since they started this 6+ acts per Fridays last year had at least 2-3 known acts even for those who live outside of Benelux.

Anyway, Im not looking for the Black Keys size of a band. As you could see in my post Im being modest (Aw! I forgot to write there Modest Mouse! Can I have them too? ☺).

Rock werchter newbie here - how much of a pain is it to get to the festival on the thursday? e.g is there loads of traffic, packed buses, queues and will the camping fields be full early on? What I'm saying is is it worth going on the wednesday instead? Problem is that 5 days is a long time in a tent with your gf, so I'm thinking of going to brussels for the day on the friday. How easy is it to get to and from brussels? And would it be ok to spend a night in brussels on the friday (without and decent bands on) and just come back to the tent for the saturday? Any advice welcome!!

It's going to be an interesting day tomorrow anyway:

- Cactusfestival announcing its remaining 2 headliners tomorrow morning + smaller names

- Les Ardentes bringing a rock announcement tomorrow morning (and they still lack 2 headliners)

So we'll be able to rule out some names before we get our own RW announcement.

Dont know about the camping but I was expecting long queues for the festival entrance around Thursday noon but got in (+ replaced the e-ticket with a wristband) in less than a minute last year. Very easy to go to and from Brussels during the day, twenty minutes ride from Leuven in a fast train and about 7 Euros for return trip. The problem is that there are no trains after the shows so if you're planning to go to Brussels af night after the headliner you have a problem.

Rock Werchter answered me on twitter just now. I asked for Eagles of Death Metal and Mastodon in todays announcement and they said: "We'll see what we can do" ....make what you want with it :)

Tweet favourite by me! :)

I had told several weeks ago that the Gaslight Anthem couldn't play at Werchter because of their dates. It's a mistake from me, sorry, I've just noticed they can play on Friday 26th June ! Hope they are going to be announced, we need them.

I'm afraid you were right the first time. Finland on 25th, Sweden on 27th, Denmark on 28th, jamming Belgium in between would make a murdering tour schedule.

I think we'll get Disclosure today, after announcing several festivals we share acts with yesterday and today.

Disclosure

Eagles Of Death Metal

Mastodon

St. Paul & The Broken Bones

Kovacs

... so we don't need to wait until 4pm.

:ninja:

If I'm not mistaken the last time someone self-confirmed, they added someone else instead. So they announced 5 new names. Correct me if I'm wrong.

OK yes that was the reason for I had told it, I remember now, thanks !

    • Sabrina I actually think is alright, but as an overall thing including Fontaines in the mix it does look very boring.
    • I went to the O2 show as had cheap NHS tickets. I did love the whole Machine Gun Kelly vs MGK Emo/Pop Punk stuff amusing and could see that show going down well. I thought it was so funny watching the video skits of a die hard old skool fan gradually morphing in to an Emo Kid. That show with less old Machine Gun Kelly tunes and more MGK Pop-Punk would be ace.   Pair him against a heavy act on the other stage and jobs a goodun,
    • Not sure if this is allowed, but I have an additional daily ticket which I’m willing to sell for a heavily reduced price. If you, or someone you know wants to go that day, but wouldn’t for the original price, let me know.    Edit: It’s for Friday
    • Couple of standing tickets left on ticketmaster if anyone is still trying
    • Choosing  I think boycotting a festival you would usually attend simply because you don't like one of the acts is pretty petulant to be honest, just go and watch a different stage. There are plenty of the usual slam dunk attendees who would be into him, as well as attracting new festivalgoers too.
