I'm probably being a bit slow here, but is this festival ^^^ replacing Sonisphere in Europe, which also makes it likely to replace the UK leg? Or has this festival got nothing to do with Soni and I'm definitely being a bit slow?

Yeah the company that's running these events now own a controlling share in Kili, and look to have replaced Sonisphere in at least Germany and Switzerland. The press release I posted yesterday describes their vision quite well.

Just read on the official DL forums, that the director who has just done the new KISS documentary has been told that Mötley Crüe, KISS and Muse are the Sonisphere headliners.

According to the post, the director was sent a text saying they are the Sonisphere headliners, so I'm guessing it's still under that name, yeah. I'd guess that Crüe would headline the 'smaller' Friday that they always seem to have.

Kiss? Which Sonisphere are we talking about here? Spain? France? Surely not the Knebworth one, after what happened the other year?

With it only needing to sell between 40-60k tickets. I think thats a decent bunch. Especially if they have Faith No More as undercard like the other DEAG festivals. Motley Crue and Kiss are a bit weak but with it being Motkey Crue's farewell show its justifiable I guess. Kiss are good live so a decent headliner with questionable draw. Muse would be massive though so I think it'd work much better than 2012 anyways where the main fault lay with Queen and the lateness in announcing

I'd probably go for the Crüe day if it was a decent lineup. I'd like to see them before they pack it in, plus, me and my friends went to an 80s fancy dress party as them, it was a fun night

If FNM were headlining instead then it would be exactly the same as 2012. Exactly the same.

I think the only way that set of headliners could work is if they really deliver a strong undercard with subs big enough on the Crue and KISS days that they're a draw on their own

They might JUST about get away with that
