I've been going since 2008, I had a ticket to the 1998 festival but due to circumstances (crappy ex) etc I ended up selling it. Then in 1999 I got ill with M.E so was out of action for a few years!

It wasn't until a friend suggested going in 2008 that I really thought about it again. I was better by then, working full time, and thought I'd manage. I mentioned it to my sister and a couple of friends, and four of us went. My sister and I decided we wanted to go every year!!! :)

Thanks for the suggestion, digger! I thought of trying a bit of Soundgarden or The Clash, but mrs. gumby is working from home, so it's a bit of a non-starter today. Managed to distract him with his brio train set now. Off for a walk to hopefully get him to sleep soon, and with any luck he'll wake up happier!

Tractor Ted! Watch Tractor Ted! It's lovely!

Despite friends going to the other side........ today has been a good day.

Wolf Alice tickets bought.

Invoices all done, and one customer paid their immediately!!! Every month I have targets for income, I have today beaten my May target!

Sorting the last bits in office and putting some orders together then the weekend is bare - hopefully we have visitors tomorrow.

Bluebells and pub pretty much describes the weekend.

As you are allergic to children - why do you know about Tractor Ted........ who I had never heard of til just now.

Because my bestest friend lives in Finland, and when we went to stay with her and her lovely family, Tiny 2 was massively into tractors. It's very hypnotic!

I am in fact one of Tiny 1's Guardians, so am not quite so allergic to these two Small People :)

Said bestest friend and I found ourselves staring at the tv learning all about how potatoes are grown and harvested, thanks to Tractor Ted. Genius.

It's our year end and it is going remarkably well. I can't help but think I have forgotten something very important!!!

Child 1 (A levels in a few weeks) is now far too old, and we're far too uncool, for him to come on holiday with us anymore. So, we'll be off to Spain sans lui in July.

In compensation for my disappointment at this, he is kindly allowing me to purchase his tickets for Latitude and Bestival, the little dear, the first of which I just purchased. Well, after all, think of all the money I'm saving not taking him to Spain...

...I curse the day I got my children into music...

£££

Whereabouts in Spain, Ben?

We're off to Spain in a few weeks, little town called Marin, near Pontevedra in the northwest. It's my father in law's 70th, but rather than have a party here, they've booked a villa for a week, and all their kids and grand kids are going too. Gumby jr's first time flying, so fingers crossed he's ok with it!

OK, I'd be lying if I said I was entirely certain where!

we're flying to Malaga, and staying in a village/town not far from Nerja, IIRC. Should be fun. Me, Mrs Ben, Children 1 and 2 and their Cousins 1 and 2, plus Cousins' mum (therefore Aunt, obvs) for the second week.

Nice

Not seen Tractor Ted, I'll keep an eye out for it. He's a bit obsessed with tractors (not surprising growing up in Somerset!), so that might be good. What channel is it on?

Sounds good!

Did your kids fly at a young age (gumby jr. is nearly 2 1/2)? If so, any tips for dealing with airports, or the flight itself?

    • Regarding PinkPantheress: I watched the ending of The Cure from the back and then bolted straight to Cupra to save spots on the steps for my entire festival crew. Thus, we all had a good experience there. Sucks that not everybody got to properly see it, but it felt like something out of Glastonbury where those who showed up long in advance got to see a big artist on a smaller stage in good conditions.
    • Cracking debut album earlier this year
    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
