Make me laugh peeps - I need a laugh!!

Just left numerous groups on FB and unliked loads of pages due to masses of insulting posts and messages!! All I did was have an opinion and give a toss about nature and wildlife. You would have thought I had killed a child!

No jokes for you, but the Tinterweb allows people to be more frank than face to face, they will say all sorts. If you've said your piece, then that's all you can do; some will listen, some won't, but you gave them something to consider. Warm handshakes.

Matty, Facebook is full of thundering c**ts and the lowest form of fucking dimwits. Its the worst part of it, we used to be protected from it as you would have to physically engage with these utter morons in real life.

Just block or ignore and leave it at that. Sorry but crap at jokes.

Only way to do it is to rock up to the meet in the drunken sweary tornado! Other than that you're golden.

Ginger, surely, not golden? C'mon, we're out and we're proud!

Morning all. Bit w#t and windy here this morning.

Big Dog wrapped up for the walk? (Think the keyboard slipped in your post, the sun is still in sky, and downward humidity needs persuading to go elsewhere today).

I have a feeling something good will happen today, not sure if this is a buzz from 3 step-daughters not rushing around this morning looking for clothes. No doubt all will change tomorrow.

Matty, just been reading your comments. There's some right bloody fascists round your way aren't there?

Well said I think.

Some make fascists look tame - it was the private messages that really got to me. No need for it and I am fairly sure I have been polite (ok maybe a bit of sarcasm crept in here and there but not much).

Hey ho

Thank peeps for comments - I was just feeling rather low yesterday evening but today I feel better - famous last words as about to log onto Facebook LOL

Facebook can be a bit much for me when not talking to your actual friends. I used to be a member of a group called 'Stockport Opinions', which I'd imagined would discuss local issues. Turns out it was mainly about Islamophobia. As much I hate the idea of living in an echo chamber of my own views, I had to leave. I just couldn't stand it any more. I can't understand the need for tribalism, or to go to hate as your first emotion.

If you do hate Muslims, then I apologise for bringing it up, NFR NRC is supposed to be a politics free zone!

    • Yeah I did spot that AXS had more available for the O2 shows Muse are doing, though I think that comes with the territory of AXS now being the venue's primary ticket selling platform.    My instinct remains they'll probably still play to a big crowd on the night - sales were similarly slow in 2023 but videos of those gigs showed the venue looking pretty much full. Equally it probably would be sold out if the pricing was even just slightly less ridiculous. Shave up to £50 off some of these categories and I think that would've got people to go with it.
    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
    • A lot of people have said this online but does the Marvel world need new cities to play with? New York seems to be a target of all the villains to the point where you wonder why anyone in that world still lives there. Much as you can accuse me of overthinking it I guess haha.    I do agree that The Void is a compellingly different villain in many respects given the superpower is trapping people in their most traumatic memories. Shame in some respects the film came out in the post-Endgame funk Marvel seems stuck in and a lot of people missed out on it.    Speaking of, I rewatched Infinity War the other day. First time I think I've seen it since seeing it in the cinema on its opening day. Holds up pretty well imo - I have issues sometimes with ensemble casts and jumping between 4/5 storylines but it felt this one got the balance right and also properly explored Thanos. So it was good.
    • I didn't think I'd ever watched a Coben adaptation or read one of the original books, though turns out I did - I watched one called The Stranger back in 2020. Clearly didn't stick long in my memory as until researching it, I didn't know that was one of his. Queens Gambit or Black Mirror, it was not.    But clearly it's popular tripe in some respect if Netflix is going yes to everything he has to offer and are apparently about to start trying his most popular individual character, as seen below:   https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2026/jul/30/how-harlan-coben-became-the-king-of-potboiler-tv   Plus hey. Sometimes people get a kick from watching something and deriding it as crap. Don't let this internet rando stop you haha
