getting hit by a pram

I'm sorry for those people that had to jump out of the way of my f**king huge contraption (think adult bike wheels with a trampoline on top)

but after many years of drunken people falling on my pram (not this year!!) , I designed something to protect my kids - tried to go slow / stop in crowds

hi to all those who I spoke to - yes it was a tad too big

I too took a trolley to carry my twin boys around in. I would also like to apologise to anyone who I inconvenienced who was either stuck behind me or had to get out the way (especially when I had to past the other stage during Blondies set).

I was careful when pulling the trolley and in the days I was there I crashed into nobody.

However... The number of people that walked into the trolley as they were too busy texting/reading their mobile phones numbered double figures. Whilst I make no apologies to these people, I do hope your shins are ok.

glad it wasn't just me..

your post brought back a memory of a bloke not looking and almost jogging or running and using his bloody phone, expecting everyone to move!!!! he then proceeded to "smash" in to the side of my pram (my pram won), he screamed pretty badly

i don't think there's been a year when i've not at some point looked down to see what was making traffic a bit sticky and seen a big contraption with a mischievous little face waving at passers by enjoying them looking freaked out/amused.

no need to apologise, you're a great feature of the festival :D hope the kids had fun

During Brian Ferry some guy did a somersault over the front wheel of my trike pram. Just saved it tipping over with my seven month old in. Felt bad for the poor guy who was very apologetic. I gave him a wet wipe to sort his muddy hands out and told him not to worry. It wasn't in a particularly crowded place, but right on the edge of the crowd. However, ill concede it is not lit up, just yellow reflectors I put on it. Def need to sort this out for next year methinks.

thought the prams where an excellent idea, some even looked pretty cool. Not a parent myself but it must have been easier when moving about knowing the kid(s) where in the pram and not likely to be wondering about in a large crowd moving fast at times.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
