Bobby Womack dies:-(

Heard about this while there and at first assumed it was just that made up death thing that used to be an annual thing at glastonbury (as I assume with Michael Jackson)- a real shame to find out it was real, almost a year to the day I saw him on the jazzworld stage.

He had Alzheimer's, so I suppose at least he was spared the horrific long term suffering that illness can cause.

Seen the "Bobby Womack RIP" thing on Holts and was like....he's not dead!?!

Hadn't heard anything about it until I got home and discovered the news. Very sad to hear, only seen him on that stage last year. RIP Bobby

Was surreal and upsetting to read this in the paper on the closing day of Glastonbury, when only a year earlier I had watched him play the last slot on West Holts on the closing day. A true legend. RIP.

One of them just shouted 'Bobby Womack' before the start of one of their songs. I'd totally forgotten that moment but at the time thought it was a little disrespectful - why not say a few words, a simple 'rest in peace' or something.

They did say his name before the song and shoe-horned it in before a repeating line about greatness or something like that. I can't remember what the song was now, but I know at the time I thought it was a nice nod of respect

Ah okay, that is a little better then! I can't have been all there, because I only remember them shouting 'Bobby Womack' before a start of a song without saying anything before or afterwards.

    • Was volunteering at the Women’s Cricket World Cup at Southampton yesterday. Was great fun.
    • Definitely see this as being 'weak' on paper but could see a few bumps up from previous sets at Download (Don Broco, Neck Deep etc).
    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
