Tea and coffee questions

Where's the best place you've been to for a cup of coffee on site? Can't kickstart my day without a good cup of joe, and I travel light so have no room for a mini stove, cups, etc.

And where is the 50p tea tent normally located? I've passed it once or twice when worse for wear, but can never find it when needed! Cheers.

If you can find the Magic Hat sauna, the 50p tea tent tends to be within spitting distance - in the corner of the greenfields over where Dragons camping used to be (might still be for shangri la staff I think)

There are previous coffee threads, if you want to search for them. My rule of thumb is - generally the odder, rickety'er and more eccentric the stall/wagon/coffe cart looks, the better the coffee tastes. Beware burger van coffee. You'd be better off swilling a handful of mud around in some warm water.

I had a couple of really disappointing coffees last year and gave up until the Sunday night when I left the Other stage and wandered to (I think) a burger place up to the back right hand side of it. There was a sign offering Aztec chilli hot chocolate which I thought would warm me up nicely. They had run out, but when the guy saw the disappointment on my face he said he'd make me a wicked latte and promised it would be the best ever. I asked if they had skimmed milk and he said he'd try and find some.

The guy disappeared for AGES, to the point that I began to feel stupid for continuing to stand there, thinking he'd forgotten all about me and gone back to his tent! But eventually be retuned with a one pint carton of skimmed milk. He then took an age to make the latte, properly stretching the milk.

Oh my god, it truly was the best latte ever and weirdly that was one of my favourite moments of the whole weekend!

Agree about the coffee stall by West Holts which was really good. In the late night area the American diner wagon in Block 9 did a great espresso although drinking a couple of those at 3am can be risky

One i missed out on was the Green Brownie Company who I think served Tim Peaks coffee which Tim Burgess produces for the David Lynch charity - anyone know where they are based

There's a track that comes off of the railway track heading south just before Unfairground. First landmark is the Magic Hat sauna, then a bit further down on the same side is the 50p tea place. All the food and drink around this area is the cheapest on site. Quality varies wildly, though good bargains can be found.

Always do the 50p tea tent as a right of passage.

£2.50. 5 cups of multivitamin juice, goodbye hangover, hello great tasting beverage!

Plus the fella who runs it, is a lovely fellow.

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
