Beer

What beer does everybody like to drink? I'm obviously aware that there is no glass bottles allowed at Glasto which restricts my choices a fair bit. I like my White & Blonde beers, however am having a hard time finding them in plastic bottles or can forms. I have no problem drinking your standard lagers i.e) Fosters, Carling etc... but just wondering in case I'm missing something special... enlighten me!

I do like drinking ale from the bars but out of cans it'll be larger. I usually take a few crates of Stella but my mate who comes can't handle the stella, it turns him into a dick. So I'll probably take half stella and half fosters, along with a few premixed vodkas. :)

Edit: Just reread title and the question seemed different in my head, got a habbit of doing that lol

What's ale like decanted into plastic bottles, isn't that a possibility or would it spoil it?

Partial to an ale myself but it'll be cans and spirits for me until I get to the bars.

Anyone have any recent prices of ales? Heard there's a few places that have a variety.

There's not really such a thing as a decent tasting ale in a can - I've done lots of research into it - so you're better off getting stronger stuff, so you need to wee less. Tanglefoot, hobgoblin and speckled hen are all about 5%, and taste reasonable. A quid a can or £4.50 at the bars? I'll be doing both, but if you have ten a day then you'll be saving £35 a day.

£175 over the festival!

I've not seen any tribute in cans, but I'd happily give it a bash. I wasn't (and aren't) a fan of Abbot though, in cans or on tap.

What would be ideal would be on site polypins from local brewers - but I guess the bars would never allow that to happen, cos their business would halve instantly

OOH that big can has got me right excited! Living in Sussex is often quite a good thing - Harvey's and Dark Star for starters - but our access to Cornish ales is crap.

Besides anything else, I'm off beer for three weeks before a charity walk, I'm only three days in and I'd murder that big tribute can

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
