half and half. start out with just Dolly, and then halfway through, BAM, out walks Jack and the White Stripes version begins. delicious

That would be cool. Jack won't stick around though. I hope he doesn't anyway, don't want a back stage bust up between him and Dan.

Don't you?

I want The Black Keys to be playing then the music cuts out, Jack White appears looking incensed on the screens and calls out Dan like on the wrestling programmes. They have a blues rock guitar battle onstage that runs right over Kasabian's set then Carney hits Jack with a steel chair.

Think you need to change your avatars and username and hang your head in shame.

I was waiting for that. I don't play records so much at the moment as I don't have a great set up. So I stick to ipod and obviously it doesn't split into sides. I've listened to the album recently just not spun the record.

What to expect in terms of songs

The White Stripes: Seven Nation Army, Dead Leaves, Ball and Biscuit. Could be any others after that.

The Raconteurs: Steady as She Goes, Top Yourself

The Dead Weather: Blue Blood Blues and/or Cut Like a Buffalo

Jack White Solo is harder to guess at the moment but I guess 16 Saltines, Freedom at 21, Hypocritical Kiss and whatever new ones.

Oh and probably a cover.

He played broken any soldiers when I saw him. Fucking took the roof of that did.

Also fell in love with a girl, you and I gonna be friends. He's played Carolina drama as well which is one of best raconteurs songs.

where was that again? Carolina Drama is awesome. I'm obviously guessing but those ones I listed are the songs I'd imagine will survive to this tour. Thing is, we still don't know his tour options yet. He toured with two bands last time out and rehearsed something like 40 songs with each before heading out.

I don't mean 80 in total there btw.

He also played Hotel Yorba at every show on his last tour, and We're Going To Be Friends a lot too, so I'd expect both of those.

yeah I realise this but with more solo songs coming in, something will get dropped. We're Going to be Friends is the song I want played at my funeral.

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
