I'm sure I read something somewhere saying Bowie's original idea for Let's Dance sounded very different to how it ended up.

Rodgers might seem a bit of an arrogant arse claiming they're 'his' and picking his own music for radio shows but playing songs he was heavily involved with hardly seems to fall into the same category.

I'm sure there are people who do similar who Russy would be less furious about.

Anyone who doesn't like Chic is dead inside.

They were great at Glasto but they were even better when I saw them in the Button Factory in Dublin the year before.

How you can fault the guys musical ability is beyond me. He's always been very clear about his role in Lets Dance, Bowie wrote the song, came to him with it, and he turned it into the final version.

it wasn't just him either, Bernard Edwards was heavily involved and his basslines are some of the greatest in the history of music.

And Bowie was writing dance music was he?

Bowie did the album, but it's the album of his he dislikes the most. Perhaps because it's more Nile than him?

Just a thought. :)

he didn't like what it did to his career, but I've never read or heard him say he didn't like the album

I've read a comment of his along the lines of it being his least favourite album with songs he doesn't like to perform.

I got the impression from that that it was an album he'd rather everyone forgot.
