Cool, I always thought those sorts of offers were a little bit cheeky. I had one on I think Betfair or 888 that required me to use my free bet something like 20 times before I could withdraw it.

Yeah. Say u had a 20 bet on say metacilla at evens. Normally u win 20 and get ur 20 stake money back. But free bets u dont get stake money back. Make sense?

The reason they do it is to discourage you from "unlocking" money by betting on a "sure thing"

Say they gave you a £50 free bet, but you just wanted to take the £50. Well you would bet on something like a top team playing a stinker of a team with the top team well odds on fav. If the odds where 1/50 you would be near sure you would win, so you think you get your £50 plus £1, but here you would only get £1.

nope, mostly I'm worried that cos I was right about Kasabian people are presuming I have the same almost-certainty in Metallica. I don't.

Even over Kasabian I worried a fair bit, but at the least the odds with that made it look worthwhile. The odds for Metallica are crap.

That's cos you're not a gambler. If it was almost certainty it'd have been odds on from start.

and yet Kasabian were an almost certainty and were at 6 to 1.

My info for Kasabian was better and the odds were better. It was a no brainer.
