This year, Wednesday afternoon in the rain, beats hotel - must have been 300 people singing along to Rocket Man and just chilling. Wonderful moment!

Would be great but not sure about headliner though............

It's mad that Elton is playing Colchester! I'm a Chelmsford girl, for my sins, and didn't even know they had a venue big enough. I used to love the Arts Centre for gigs.

Two issues I see are:

- Would Glasto want him to headline the year after he did Bestival? Seems a bit like copying them.

- Surely he's got Sunday headliner written all over him and that's when he's in Colchester.

I'd bloody love it though. Hakuna Matata has to be played though.

I am well out of touch with Essex goings on these days. Can't even remember the last time I went to Colchester. I've told my parents about Elton though - reckon they'd love it. Maybe I should just sack off the bloody resale and go with them ;)

One of my earliest gigs was a Placebo warm-up at the Arts Centre. Second album. Fond memories!

He was absolutely amazing at bestival. A perfect festival set jammed with hits, performed brilliantly. Was up there with the Stones as my gig of the summer, and everyone dancing and singing to I'm still standing was probably my moment of the summer.

Not to everyone's taste, but based on bestival he'd be an excellent Glasto headliner

I've said for some time that Elton would make a perfect Sunday night headliner, it never ceases to amaze me that it hasn't happened yet. Timing seems right with him promoting at the moment, you never know :)

I'd go, every song would be a sing along belter, even though I can't say I'd ever listen to Elton John at home.

It's still there, wow. I'd imagine that when I went you might well have still been in nappies :)

Some others my fading memory cells just about remember- Zero 6, TOTS, Ilford Palais, Room at the Top, Hollywoods. Lacey Lady (Kings). At least half of those demolished by now. Anyway, that's enough of all my yesterdays!
