I love this post, it makes me feel emotional even though I got tickets.

Why? Because "There for the grace of God" and all that. I know how easy it could be for anyone of us to be in the position of missing out on Tday.

I really do feel for you and I hope that anyone on here who has missed out getting their ticket today is successful in the April resale.

Comrades, some of us have lost The Battle Of Ticket Day, but the war is not yet over.

Today we may be wounded, weary and woeful, but we still have much to fight on for. For now we must pick ourselves up and go about our daily lives as we have done before. The winter will bring with it the cold, and though this may be harder to bear in our current state, bear it we will, and break we will not. The months we must endure until our next opportunity will be long, but we will not squander this time, we will prepare ourselves, we will return with fire in our bellies.

Go back to your homes, go back to your jobs, for a while you must wait, but each day is another step along the road to our impending victory. The Somerset cider will taste twice as sweet the harder it is earned, and the hangovers that it brings will not phase us, for we will have known anguish, and we will have defeated anguish. We will see the sunrise over Worthy Farm once more, we will dine on the finest William's Green has to offer, we will dance in the Pyramid field, we will tut at children with those fucking balloons up the Stone Circle.

Our victory has not been today, brothers and sisters, but do not lose hope; our victory will be.

Thanks Getoffamylawn. I needed that. Like really needed it.

It does help to know other vets and efesters are in the same boat. I still feel sick whenever I think about it though.

But I am not giving up.

It's shit that you didn't get one, you've been on here all though the big long summer. I do genuinely believe we'll enjoy it more after getting tickets in the resale, having endured a few months of feeling a bit shit. It'll feel great when we have our patience and faith rewarded!

I know, I feel the same about you. I just really love the festival - it's genuinely one of the highlights of my year.

We will get there. And you're right - I'll appreciate it all the more.

Keep the faith. In a non Bon Jovi way.

I like to think that for every one of us veterans who didn't get their annual ticket, someone else instead will be going for the first time, experiencing Glasto for themselves and calling themselves a Glasto-goer. There's something heartwarming about that. We're giving our lives so that they may live, so to speak.

Still trying in the resale though, obviously :D

Am I a bad person because this doesn't make me feel better? :)

I agree that new blood is needed, although I'm still newish myself at only five years down.

I hope a lot of the moaning minnies reconsider and give up their tickets because it's not as good as it used to be!

Edit to say: in their words, not mine!

This is the best post I have seen today, remain positive people and in the resale hit F5 for all it's worth and ignore the holding page. Your Glastonbury needs you! :)

I missed out and am genuinely gutted, but the headline post on this made me chuckle and feel a bit better.

I'm wondering about the 'hit the F5 button and ignore the holding page'

What does this mean - we were stuck on the holding page, how do you bypass it?

The holding page refreshes every 20 seconds, by hitting F5 (assuming you are on a Windows based PC) you refresh your self when you see the page has loaded and you are not on the ticket screen. Increases your chances of getting through :)

OY!

I'm bumping this thread because I hereby ban all long faces this morning. I've missed out on the main sale again, like last year, and I'm going to Glastonbury again, like last year.

Enjoy your Sunday, everybody. We'll all be here again in April, then we'll all be on the farm in June.

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
