Went to the Cardiff Gig last night. Epic.

Good setlist, with a mixture of just about everything. Switch 2 or 3 songs out for better known ones like they did at Glasto and this would be a popular Reading headline set. :)

I do wish they'd drop Old Yellow Bricks in favour of something else from FWN though.

If you don't mind missing the first 20 minutes, you'll get them near face value I'd imagine

Mind you, that would be the case with most arena gigs, but people seem to be desperate to see them all of a sudden. If I was you, I'd keep my money and use it to see Arcade Fire and go to a couple of decent academy gigs with it

If any of you have read that Daily Fail article posted earlier, it does seem awfully suspicious that one of them has come down with an 'illness' this late on.

It's not a hangover, they've played several gigs (you can see the footage) where they've been throwing up on stage. Alex's throat is fucked, he's been ordered to rest by the meds.

Edit: Just to add, that's the official line, and i'm not naive enough not to think the "sore throat" wasn't brought on by the free whiskey/whisky at the Mercury's last night.

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
