Can anyone explain in a nutshell to me why everyone is so sure that the next headliner is Libertines? imo I think it would be quite a weak headliner, overrated to be honest.

Your opinion doesn't reflect the festivals booking policies though, they've played to massive crowds in the past at R/L and a lot of hype around them just now

and Neil who runs the website, has the information to suggest they are definitely headlining

I wasn't trying to suggest that my opinion did reflect their booking policies, it just doesn't make sense to me for them to jump from a subheadline in their reunion to a headline now even though they haven't really done anything

It doesn't really make sense to me either, but if they're headlining T it's extrememly unlikely that they'd settle for (or even be offered) a lower slot at R&L.

Cardiff did not sell out full capacity, pretty sure it didn't sell out at all and my mate said they'd brought in all the stalls and put up curtains further into where the crowd normally go. They do it when tickets don't sell that well. Nine Inch Nails had the same.

Bands do this kinda thing all the time, say a gig is sold out when it isn't but I knew his arena tour didn't do that well. Thankyou Mouseboy! Also The Cribs things was just a guess, I just phrased it wrong, they probably just meant the Festival Republic, they wouldn't headline Lock Up in a million years. It'd be an insult to Mike Davies.

Yeah very true, what makes me question whether the libertines are headlining is how R&L described the last headliner as 'world-renowned' and they were having a 'world exclusive interview' with them

Never trust a festival organiser when they describe their festival. MCR weren't, aren't and never will be a 'massive guitar band'.

    • I keep seeing the Yungblud media push again: the interviews, the radio presenting tours, the reels after reels on IG and FB. His labels marketing team are on another push which can only mean new stuff coming out soon.
