Lineup 2015

Recommended Posts

Reckon The Vaccines will sub next year, then return to headline in 2016, with Muse and Radiohead, to balance out the awesomeness. 8)

I'm joking, but I do think they'll sub next year and maybe headline in 2016, with Muse maybe, but not Radiohead.

Muse is almost the one you feel is dead set for 16. I'd bet a new album with a IOW date or something like that the year before.

No, THIS. IS. SPARTAAAA.

Nah tis 2015 mate :)

ah, 16 had been mentioned hence why i said.

in that case out of them, Muse are more likely a year later. The Prodigy deffo in with a chance I reckon and RATM - it's touch and go but could be between them and Metallica, RATM would be better for the fact it wouldn't be two Download one.

I do reckon AF are of the main options for it, but it's them or Blur for me. If IOW get Blur this tear, I've no doubt R&L will let AF wait a year if they can get Blur.

But I'd look based on that at:

The Prodigy

Pendulum

Blur (if they nick from IOW then AF here and Pen and Dizzee swapped just so not to repeat the MK Bowl)

Dizzee Rascal (friday and this say subs could swap)

Metallica

? - I'd put Slipknot bt I can't think of much else is why

Twin Atlantic are making the steps up the festival as well.

Think Twin Atlantic if their next album goes big could be 3rd from top by 2015, if not then 4th.

But then again I am a fan.

Ya ya could see that...don't think there'll be a 3 year gap between Metallica's UK appearance though...knowing them :P

UK tour? Or maybe they'll create their own festival, like in the US lol

Yikes. And people doubt that shikari will play 3rd/sub?

Mental.

Oh it would have to be a massive step up and i agree with you, it's very very unlikely. But Reading do seem to like them and if they release an album which pushes them up festival lineups a bit and increases their popularity, Reading will be the festival to credit them most.

Same as Shikari. Doesn't mean it actually is going to happen.

Don't they have to tour like big venues before aswell, and sell them out?

Yeah obviously there are more factors to it. They'd need to increase sales and venue sizes with the next album or two. But what i a saying is the suggestion of them playing 3rd or 4th is not something that is necessarily overly far away.

Them getting bumped up so quickly has one advantage though:

Smaller, hardworking bands could occupy the lower end up main stage, and not them or any other over-used main stage act. Less big repeats aswell :D

that's not true though, look at all the bands that got 'bumped up' this year, like Biffy, Deftones, Foals. And then lower end of the main stage was occupied by meaningless Kerrang drivel

We will always find something to complain about.

    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
