Does seem a bit much to have all games outside Prem get involved too, but Hillsbrough historically does tend to command a fair amount of attention, especially considering the very public campaigns in respect of the search for justice

However I would argue that the attention to the public campaign is largely due to the size of the club involved. There shouldn't be any ranking of what counts as the most tragic death of a fan.

This Rangers/Dundee United game looks like it might be good. Rangers are properly fired up and Dundee United look like they're trying to stay settled and getting pummeled for it.

I'd say the Hillsborough thing is purely down to the amount of media attention an event gets. But there doesn't seem to be any logic behind it. The same with September 11th or Princess Di's death.

United have had two decent chances and taken both of them. Clinical stuff from them really.

Rangers deserve what they're getting here. If you can't take your chances, you don't deserve anything from a game.

It's probably due to the high-profile nature of the incident, political reaction and team involved, and that the event is still in the media and 'current' due to the many campaigns and investigations. There's no reason why those who have suffered should be considered more special that those affected by what happened at Bolton or Bradford, but circumstances dictate that they are.

Second half was a bit of a non-event in the Rangers/Dundee United game. Gulf in class was pretty obvious. Dundee United were happy to let Rangers dominate possession knowing that not much was likely to come from it. It was a dangerous tactic early on, but they stuck with it and settled in quite well. Rangers didn't get much in the second half. Ally McCoist really is a horrendous manager, and he has put together a pretty poor side. They might even struggle to get promoted from our Championship.

Arsenal seem to have lost their form recently and were pretty poor today. Its however all about the result and Mertesacker has possibly saved Wengers job with that goal.
