There was a lot of negativity around arsenal when ozil signed

Really?

There was some stupidity off the back of a first day defeat, that's all.

I think Mata will give the whole club a boost, there probably are very few available players of his profile.

It would, but that boost wouldn't be much or enough.

But anyway, where are all the "spotted in Manchester this morning" stories? If the stories are true he was having his medical this morning and was to be unveiled this arvo.

There's something about it that doesn't smell quite right.

BBC have it as a done deal...

Rumours say that Chelsea are going to 'steal' Sala under Liverpools nose as well.

that story has been changed a little since last night, cos it did say the medical would be this morning. That bit of info was wrong, so why should the rest of it be right?

There's a lot more detail about this transfer coming from papers, etc, than the norm, so either someone is leaking good info like a sieve, or all of the info is suspect.

Given that various bits and pieces around it keep being contradicted to try to keep the story within any of the few solid facts, I'm starting to side with the 'suspect' angle.

Surprised there has not been any mention of the following

Barcelona Neymar fee

Colleymore criticising Suarez and getting racist abuse and death threats

The Anelka affair.

Also Wenger saying it's unfair selling a player to a rival(I know the punch line guys), eh? What about RVP and Nasri?

Isn't salah a winger? In all honesty if Liverpool have money to spend it should be in the middle of the park.

they need (one of) a back up for Sterling or a better than Sterling, so presumably that's why they might want him.

Chelsea selling mata and trying to poach Liverpool transfer tactics, its as if they are trying to help man utd!

I don't think Moaniho has much in the way of love for Utd after they had him in tears last spring.

    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
    • Dug into Milkweed some more and this was a brilliant suggestion. Thank you 🙂   This will come as no surprise, but I have been told that there are some band substitutions to come.
    • Yeah, I think it's important to differentiate between a stage that's just a platform for the artist to walk on (which can be assembled fairly quickly and without too much difficulty), and the custom staging that you get in big productions where there's a whole world underneath.   Using the Eras tour as an example the stage extending out into the stadium field has all sorts - lifts that go up or down - down most importantly as this allows performers to enter or to leave the stage as needed. There's passageways to get from one part of the stage to another. There's what are effectively dressing rooms set aside for costume changes. There's spare instruments (and techs to look after them) so if something goes wrong above they can be swapped out in the space of seconds. There's even a track and dolly system running the full length of the stage so that Taylor can be moved from one end to the other faster than she'd be able to walk.   I don't know the specifics of the Madonna tour to the same degree but my understanding is that a lot of the same techniques are used.
