Nothing has changed though, how do you fit Rooney, RVP and kagawa in there best positions in the team?

The only way is to play Rooney in the scholes role and he doesn't want that, even though he would be perfect.

In reality kagawa will be out on the wing if the other 2 play.

I still don't see why they can't play Rooney and RVP up front and Kagawa behind them in the hole? Carrick behind him and two wingers. Diamond shape midfield with two up top. Whats wrong with that?

They can alternate of course like Rooney, Ronaldo and RVN and later Tevez did.

Considering how shit Man U's wingers have been I don't think they necessarily have to play 2. City often play Navas as a winger on one side with Silva or Nasri as a CAM and Fernandinho/Yaya behind. Man U could do one winger, Kagawa as a CAM and Fellaini/Carrick behind.

So Man U fans want a midfield that won't get overrun, a creative CAM to play, 2 wingers and 2 strikers?

Unless you can get permission to stick 12 players on the pitch rather than 11, I think there's going to have to be compromise on one of those (unless you want to go to a back 3, but...).

Yeah but if you read the actual article he didn't really mean that.

ahhh, OK - all i saw was the headline.

It's common knowledge fergie didn't take the training sessions in the last few years and delegated it to his coaches.

If that's all Phelan was referring to then he's talking bull. That's not so unusual within footie, even for younger managers - for example, I've heard it said quite a few times that Martin O'Neill doesn't take training sessions.

I got the impression from the headline that Phelan was meaning more than just that.

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
