Sorry if anyone came into this thinking they might be playing...

I'm off to see them tomorrow night in Manchester, has anyone seen them before? I expect they're good? My Dad is a bigger fan than me so I'm going for him more than anything else, I only know about 4/5 songs!

I saw them at Glastonbury 2008 (I think) and supporting Blur last year. Both times they were amazing and like you I really only know the hits. They've got great energy making for a fun show :)

I'm seeing them myself in London in a couple of weeks so would be interested to see how they are at a gig of their own.

Think it was '09 , they were amazing on the Pyramid late afternoon if can remember right! Cant see them being on again this year. But hope theres some more Ska added to the lineup. The Beat are on Williams Green on Sunday, seen them a couple of times before theyre always good for a skank!!!

They played on the Friday evening of 2009, came on after Lily Allen....it was their comeback year....they played a great set!

I'm going to see them in Sheffield on Thursday...would be good to see them at Glasto this year but alas I don't think they'll be on the programme now.

They were brilliant in 2009 up to the point when I discovered that some thieving b'stard had nicked my wallet, all around me had also been targeted; lesson learnt, always use the free lockups now.

You'll have a great time, top band :)

Saw them at Glasgow academy when they first started playing again (09?) and they were absolutely fantastic, excellent atmosphere as well. Saw them at a festival too but they lost some of their charm on an outdoor stage in daylight.

09 was great for music! Specials and Madness in the same weekend was fantastic.

I'm really looking forward to The Beat too, brilliant live but somehow I've not managed to catch them at Glastonbury yet. Definitely this year though.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
