Friday?

I'm looking at the clashfinder (rough though it is) and nothing really takes my fancy before the Vaccines at 7ish. Who are you all watching on the Friday, other than the last three bands of the day? Any songs to recommend? Failing that what would you do instead?

I'd take the opportunity to have a wander somewhere on the site I'd never explored before. The bands are only a part of the experience for me and if I had a chocker Fri/Sat/Sun I'd be a bit gutted TBH.

The cabaret and circus tents are always good to pop into for an hour or so if you have it spare.

Fairly sure Goat are playing Friday (on West Holts), probably fairly early, and are one of the acts I'm most excited about. Album ('World Music') is great, and apparently they put on a great show (a mate who goes to a lot of gigs says they were the best thing he saw all last year). They've got a lot of love on this forum, give them a listen.

Tame Impala are on the other stage, but think they may clash with vaccines, personally I'd go Tame Impala though. Orb & Indigenous people may be worth a look? are they the 'Little Fluffy Clouds' Orb, and if so are they likely to play that or do they do other stuff with Indegenous People?

Enter Shikari are the only early must see for me. I'll be following the rest of my party's music preferences for the rest of the day, with Portishead to finish. It looks quite tempting to spend most of the day at JP to me.

Does anyone else think that Dizzie Rascal subbing in reality is abit high?

He's a high profile act I know! But subbing?? I still think that in 2013 thats very high! In 2010 he was much bigger, he's definitely become less popular than he was.

Still be there loving it!

got a new single out atm and a new album to soon follow so i'm sure he'll shoot right back up people's radars soon enough. Glastonbury has never (in my eyes) been one for massive sub acts, anyway. always seem a little smaller than other festivals subs, probably due to the lack of money to throw at them all

Must say I bloody love the new single, and the new album looks promising! To be fair dizzie is abit of a British Naitional Treasure, and I forgot about Bassline Junkie! That was popular!

Yeah I like how glasto do subs! They always put an upcoming / an act who wouldn't necessarily have a high slot at other festivals proving their worth! Feels abit more special!

he's fourth down on the lineup poster, although i think he may be headlining the second stage (and T tend to have pretty huge acts in lower positions - like The Strokes headlining second stage the same year they headlined Leeds/Reading)

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.

    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
