Can't Find Another thread...

Have we ever had a musical act on Wednesday?

I ask because just gone on the Vaccines website and it says they are playing twice

The 26th (Wednesday) http://www.thevaccines.co.uk/gb/shows/2013-06-26/

And the 28th (Friday, which we already know) http://www.thevaccines.co.uk/gb/shows/2013-06-28/

I know we have had the odd "Secret Act" on the Thursday but I can't recall anything on Wednesday... I hope it is just a mistake on their part, I don't want more people arriving for no reason

I've just checked the 2011 Clashfinder and there were some Dj's in NYC Downlow and stuff going on in the Bourbon Street Bar. I'd fully expect something to be going on in a few more places in the evening this year.

The Vaccines seem like a rather large act to be playing on the Wednesday so i'm gonna put it down as a mistake. don't think an act that big has ever played on the Wednesday have they?

I'm sure there hasn't been any name acts on the Wednesday before, the likes of Bourbon Street was about as big as it got. Will be surprised if that isn't the same this year.

I think this was mentioned in anothe thread. I would imagine that they are playing twice (which we believe they are Pyramid and Williams Green), as the Williams green lineup hasn't been bought out yet they have left the day of this as the 26th until announcement when it will change to the specific day.

That's what I'm putting it down to anyway.

it will be a mistake and will have been put in because the dates of the festival are 26-30 June officially. I wouldnt read anything into it.

To clarify, is the Williams Green essentially the Glade stage or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Would be unusual for such a big act to play on the Wednesday, besides when Maximo Park 'opened' the festival in 2009 at 4pm on the Thursday at William's Green it got dangerously congested and security were having to steer people away from the area. I really wanted to see them but couldn't get near, I can only assume that The Vaccines playing with no alternative large acts to water the crowd down a bit would result in a similar situation.

William's Green is by the Meeting Point near Ped Gate C, the Queen's Head used to be there.

At the end of 2011 festival the council had some recommendations. I am positive one was for more music on the Wed & Thu. So, still see The Vaccines as too big for that role, but all will become clearer in coming weeks.
