Arrival and queing times survey

From a purely selfish point of view, I'm very interested in the queing times last time round.

I have therefore created a survey, the results of which will hopefully make my decision on when to arrive and start queing.

Obviously the more people that answer the better so if you are in any Glastonbury Facebook Groups or other forums, please share the link around.

I'll leave it running for a few weeks then post the results on this thread.

Cheers!

I've filled it in as curious to know the results.

We get dropped off at Bath & West Showground and get a shuttle bus to the site. We've arrived earlier every year to get our desired spot in Park Home Ground. Last year we were queueing by around 7.30am and I think they opened our gate a bit early. We got in, pitched before the downpour and were sat in a deserted West Holts waiting for the Brothers bar to open by 11am. Good times.

Shuttle bus queue never seems too bad. I've done it from Castle Cary too. The only bad year we had getting in was 2009 when we had to wait in the showground for six hours in the blistering heat before getting a bus. Pretty sure I got sunstroke as a result.

You should've made your survey items conditional so that you only see questions relevant to your earlier answers.

Personally, arrive Tuesday night, go and sit by the gate about 6:30, they swung the doors open sometime 7-8 and we just walked up to our spot.

Don't get the thought process of people that arrive later than weds... it's not V Festival!

We will be getting there at about midday Wednesday, because we have 4 kids, need to take one to school and settle the youngest before we leave at about 9.30 am, no choice, but its a day earlier than last time. We have to pick up people in the next town too. Personally I probably won't sleep that night, lol

The gates open when they open. Hopefully early, but sometimes 10am at the latest. Some years you can be extremely unlucky and there's a power problem to the UV wristband readers which delays opening. Or there's a fuck off monsoon which stops people being able to move through the ridiculous mud and that holds up 7/8ths of the people behind the lucky ones that got in before the heavens opened.

You can plan but the goalposts can and do move, you cant predict it, just hope that it does run smoothly so we can all return on here afterwards saying 'oh wasnt that easy, nothing like last time, I was camped by 9am yay'.
