Arrival and queing times survey

We had two cars full of people travelling together. We got to the big tesco's that isn't far from the site (not sure which town it is), and my friend needed a slash so we ended up 5 minutes behind them. Turns out that meant we had to go to a different car park, which in turn meant that we ended up behind the buses. That 5 minutes extra meant we ended up queing for almost 3 hours, whilst our mates were in and set up within 90 minutes. To be honest, it may have been closer to two hours queing, I don't really remember anymore, but in the pouring rain it certainly felt like longer!

When we could see the wristband exchange, the very cheerful and friendly security guard asked the girl in front of us if it was her first time. 'Yeah, and my fucking last' was the reply. Got a few laughs, but I think everyone could relate at that point! Absolute torture, especially knowing our mates were already set up and having a beer by this point!

Well there's good news and there's bad news...

Good news - nearly 500 responses, thanks to all who took part.

I've closed the survey now because the free version of Survey Monkey only shows the first 100.

So it's hardly as in depth as I would have liked but.... THE RESULTS ARE IN!

I haven't got time just at the moment but as soon as I do, I'll share them here.

As mentioned in my previous post, due to not spending £24 to upgrade, Survey Monkey only give the results of the first 100 respondents. A shame given that this has obviously skewed some of the results.

But still.... OMWARDS!

Do you believe the time you arrived had a direct effect on your camping location?

Yes 50.70%

No 49.30%

Other info...

Some of our friend were there even earlier and saved us a space.

Sent a friend early to pitch my tent!

Place saved

Campervan

Friends had arrived earlier so met up with them in camping spot.

problems with egress to Gate D screwed up camping arrangements

Campervan - N/A

don't camp

was camping off site

Sent tent ahead with others

In a campervan. They don't necessarily open the fields in any particular order but I'm sure we'd have been closer to the gate if we'd got there sooner.

  • 5 months later...

Too late for the survey but we arrived around 11.30 am on Tuesday and were ushered straight into CV East. Caravan all set up, a pleasant evening and then a gentle stroll in some time around midday on Wednesday.

    • I was so lucky yesterday, disappointed of course not to see Massive Attack, but gorgeous sets from Blood Orange, Caroline, Panda Bear, and Father John Misty was a real highlight. The half of Geese i saw was mint too.   I wanted to see overmono but couldnt hack it anymore.   But now, its Friday, I'm In Love
