Even the Met Office are unable to get the weather right a lot of the time, so no-one else stands a chance! Whatever the forecast says takes clothes/footwear for all eventualities and you'll be fine. Seriously, if the forecast says it is going to rain for five days solid are people not going to bother going to the festival?

I think we all appreciate this, but obsessing over the weather is part of the fun! And for some people, the weather IS a massive issue - if it looks like there is a high likelihood of 2011 style mud then the chances are my husband won't come - due to mobility problems he would find it extremely difficult to get about, and wouldn't cope with being in wellies all weekend. We knew this when we got his ticket, but now the festival is so close we would both be devastated it he had to stay home!

All the model updates are really transient, and ever changing </usual legal caveat>

But I have semi-realistic! hopes, as of RIGHT NOW ONLY!! folks! that JACKONE will be able to post a better update tomorrow. Basing this on some models from the 6 pm (18z) run from both GFS and ECM, which do seem to favour, even confirm, the prospect of a High Pressure build from the SW next week.

Not at all! I've lived here for 2 years, been to my fair share of festivals and would much prefer there to be actual weather than just blistering heat for 3 days straight.

Although if (when) it is a warm one, it would be wonderful if Glasto could set up some misting tents. Those things are lovely. Anyway, I'll stop running before I can walk..

but you couldn't enjoy the weather in the american festivals, where they herd you into areas to drink (and you can't take your drinks outside the bar areas).

The grass is always greener.

i don't believe in the weather Gods - but this one is going to be dry and sunny.

6pm BBC forecast tonight: No rain around for my cycle in to work at 6am tomorrow morning.

10.30pm BBC forecasttonight: I'm going to be like a drowned rat for my cycle in to work at 6am tomorrow morning.

Yet I still have to follow this thread avidly all day every day....
