i missed 2005 and 2011 but heard they were both shockers. I was at 2007 which was grim. 2008 / 9 were both fine in my opinion.

2004 was my first one and if i remember rightly i survived without wellies so cant have been too bad.

I've only been in 2010 and 2011 but have read enough about 2007 to know 2011 wasn't too bad in comparison.

But I still struggled a bit in the mud in 2011. Friday was awful.

People - the forecasts are generally pretty positive. Not sure why anything we're seeing at the moment spells disaster.

The summary from this date in 2010:

In summary, a bit of a mixed bag, until the ECM 12Hz I was quite content, that although some runs were going for NE winds, this would probably be not that bad for Glastonbury in SW England, however the ECM does put a bit of a dampener on things. However I will keep my rating at 45% chance of a wet festival.

Yeah it's all to play for. However I really don't want the kind of showers we've been having in East Yorkshire over the last few days, they've been brief but really intense, you wouldn't want to stand out in them at all.

I honestly don't think 2011 was that bad. 2007 is my benchmark for awfulness.

No rain would obviously be perfect, but not as hot as 2010 please.

Yeah, the minimum requirement for me personally would be, to be able to pass out on the floor wherever I might end up and land on grass and not a mixture of mud and cow s**t

After the nice weather at the start of the month I was getting a bit worried it was all too good too soon, actually happier its unsettled at the moment and into next week, more chance a high will move in at the critical time

I think 2011 just seemed bad due to it being after 2010s gloriousness! 2011 had a lot to live up to and it failed to do so because of the Friday rain. Also the mud on the Saturday had started to dry and it was tough to walk through, my legs suffered greatly!

I'm going to keep being hopeful but won't take anything as truth until the end of next week. That's when it starts getting serious!
