I remember at Phoenix Festival in about 1995 (maybe '96) Suede and Bob Dylan arguing about who was actually headlining on the Friday (again, I think). Suede played last so Dylan had an encore to stress that, in his mind at least, he was also headlining. Prior to that I'd not seen encores for anyone not playing last (although I have since) but I've only ever seen a couple of headliners NOT play an encore - and I can't remember who they were!

Thinking about it, I don't think The Stone Roses encored at Heaton Park last year but, as ever with my memory, I could be wrong.

Can we keep Miles Kane as far away from Arctic Monkeys as humanly possible? Make him leave the site during the festival.

If they have guests, in order of preference, I'd go Nick Cave, Richard Hawley, Tony Christie, Dizzee Rascal, everyone else ever, then Miles Kane.

I assume you mean 'New song, but released as a single off the new album before the festival, and goes down very well' for number 22 (Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall-style)? And even then, it's unlikely. If it was something no-one's heard before it'd be completely insane to end on it.

More often than not? That's not true. I've seen them double figures, and he's never played with them, even when they've been on the same bill.

And they don't always end with 505. They have done on the most recent tour. In previous tours they've ended with IYWTB and A Certain Romance.

Out of the last 35 UK shows they've played, Miles Kane has featued in 6 of them.

It's worth noting that in 2012, their average setlist was:

1. Brianstorm, 2. Don't Sit Down, 3. Library Pictures, 4. This House Is A Circus, 5. The View From The Afternoon, 6. Teddy Picker, 7. Still Take You Home, 8. I Bet You Look Good, 9. Crying Lightning, 10. Pretty Visitors, 11. If You Were There Beware, 12. Evil Twin, 13. Brick By Brick, 14. Fluorescent Adolescent, 15. Do Me A Favour 16, Suck It And See 17, R U Mine?

In 2011, Coldplay got an hour, fifteen, and played nineteen, and 2007, Arctics got about an hour, twenty five and played twenty one.

For the last shows of their own they actually played, rather than supporting Black Keys, they played:

1. Brianstorm, 2. This House Is A Circus, 3. Still Take You Home, 4. Don't Sit Down, 5. View From The Afternoon, 6. I Bet You Look Good, 7. Pretty Visitors, 8. Evil Twin, 9. Teddy Picker, 10. Crying Lightning, 11. Brick By Brick, 12. R U Mine, 13. If You Were There, 14. Do Me A Favour, 15. When The Sun Goes Down, --------

16. Suck It And See, 17. Fluorescent Adolescent, 18. 505

So going by that, my prediction would be:

1. Brianstorm, 2. This House Is A Circus, 3. Don't Sit Down 4. The View The From The Afternoon, 5. Pretty Visitors, 6. Teddy Picker, 7. I Bet You Look Good, 8. Still Take You Home, 9. Evil Twin, 10. Crying Lightning, 11. Brick By Brick, 12. Do Me A Favour 13. If You Were There Beware 14. Cornerstone 15. She's Thunderstorms 16. Dance Little Liar 17. Suck It And See 18. R U Mine? ----------- 19. When The Sun Goes Down, 20. Fluorescent Adolescent 21. 505

Looking at those setlists make me wonder they may decide to finish on R U Mine however.

    • Brazil's first half was genuinely dreadful all round, not just the midfield, so they're absolutely not bulletproof. Whether Scotland have the quality to take advantage is a different question.   Tbf, that's as much on Morocco looking good, which I did think was a possibility. They could be a bit annoyed with themselves not to have scored more before Vini's goal tbh.
    • Surely nowadays with so much data analytics available on every division in world football and so much awareness that people aren't suckered in on the basis of a decent World Cup game... right?   Although tbf, from what I saw, Australia's game plan worked very well. But that was as much thanks to Turkey blowing varying opportunities given they created enough chances but couldn't finish, a la what happened with Switzerland against Qatar when they really could and should've won by 3/4 goals.
    • I missed Viagra Boys for a good spot for Gorillaz. Was a nice weekend and festival for me. Would definitely come back, if the line up is right. Get back home safe everyone.
    • The Last Temptation - new Heaven 17 documentary film directed by James Strong. Premiered at Sheffield Docfest this weekend.    I really enjoyed it. Affectionate, insightful, and honest. A nice mix of archival and footage, interviews and clips from the last tour. Martyn and Glenn are like an old married couple.   Plus a snippet of news from the Q&A, Martyn is recording new BEF material, and Phil Oakey has collaborated on the one of tracks. The film shows them meeting in Fagans for the first time in over 35 years.
