This was there setlist from december in Newark USA

http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-rolling-stones/2012/prudential-center-newark-nj-3bda7400.html

The stones have always been about the show and as they wont be able to bring there own stage etc it will be hit after hit .I frankly cant wait.We can all say they are past it etc but they are proberbly the 2nd biggest band off all time behind the Beatles. Also with Bill Wyman playing he's got to make an appearance hasn't he?

(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction

Writing that list has probably increased my already overwhelming Stones excitement, actually trying to mentally whittle down their enormous back catalogue into a list of 20 songs makes you realise how many fantastic songs they've actually written. I went for big ballsy numbers that would get the Pyramid field jumping and shouting along rather than the more subtle numbers, hence no Moonlight Mile or Waiting on a Friend, but I couldn't bring myself to leave out No Expectations. No live recorded version of Rocks Off I've heard has ever come close to the infallible studio version, but as it's my favourite Stones song I can think of no better song for them to come roaring on stage with, don't care if it lives up or not, I'd be ecstatic.

You think the second playing of Tumbling Dice might be able to make way for She's A Rainbow, Idioteque? I mean I love me a bit of Tumbling Dice as much as the next greasy man, but we gotta bring some cheerfulness in there, bring in She's A Rainbow and, my man, you have yourself a cracking setlist.

if its anything like IOW it will be a self indulgent load of old shite....

Actually I am probably not best placed to judge as I left after 3 songs that I did not know and to be honest I couldnt tell if it was really the rolling stones or someone doing a bad impression of mick jagger...

Luckily at Glastonbury there will be plenty of other places to go...at IOW it was back to the tent for more cider.

So would I but I have no knowledge of likelihood other than the real fan-boys don't seem to include them in their predictions.

Also, everyone seems to think Satisfaction will be last. Is this normal? I'd love it to be first up just because the crowd will have been whipped into a frenzy by the wait, the fact that they're 10 minutes late (inevitable) and no-one will have been disappointed yet (they may well not be but you know how some people are) meaning the roof (sky!) will get taken off by the crowd's reaction to the opening "Duh-der, de-de-duuur...."

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
