Announcement Tonight

This is in no way a delay to the line up announcement as it is usually in April/May. There is no real reason they couldn't have announced the other headliners but maybe there is a fear if they let something go then someone somewhere will make a mistake and let the cat out of the bag so its more secure to stay completely schtum.

Also, on the Stones super-fan worries - is it really that big a deal? U2 fans had a full year's notice effectively and it didn't seem to affect the atmosphere or crowd. I think this is an irrelevant fabricated factor personally.

I don't think they're worried about anything tbh, probably completely the opposite. Given how well the first sale went they know they don't have to rush into anything. I'm hoping they're just going to firm everything up and deliver all at once. Probably about a week before the resale.

But I'll happily have it, or anything, beforehand!

Do you reckon the headliner announcements before full line up might have been from the influence of Mean Fiddler / Festival Republic and now they are gone Glasto are stamping their own method.

Maybe that corporate change is also responsible for the severe lack of info?

Just a thought.

They don't need to follow any pattern at all.

They could afford to announce the line up on the 30th may if they wanted to!

The eavi have sold out their festival, giving us the lineup now is just a nice offering, they don't need to do this!

Completely agree they don't need to but it is good will to customers who've paid not insignificant amount of money to tell them what they've bought. Personally I'm happy to wait but the unusual lack of any information whatsoever at this stage is intriguing and if you look at the competition very few, if any, have announced nothing at all yet.

(to be fair we do have some acts confirmed for Block 9 and Sonic and of course one of the pyramid openers with an indication to the other two - it's easy to forget that)

I think many are forgetting to simply beleavis

They always get it right even if the punters don't realise it yet. :)

I've just walked past the farm and by Michael's house. Saw a tractor drive past but it didn't look like Press - more like my idea of how Mike99 might look like.

Im sure I mentioned it before but Palour Flames (Bonehead's new band) have been dropping the odd hint of a major festival appearance. Tweeted last night/today that they have a festival announcement next week.

"The first of our summer Festival dates to be announced next Week"

Could this be a sign into what we are all waiting for? Maybe im reading into things to much.!

I found this via a random google for line up 2013, and Marie Claire from 7 March seem to think that they have scooped it. And no, I don't subscribe to it before anyone asks.

Glastonbury’s headline act is yet to be officially confirmed but it appears The Rolling Stones are doing the honours according to industry insider and Kasbian guitarist, Serge Pizzorno.

The musician accidentally revealed who the Glastonbury headliners were in an interview with MTV News on Wednesday. As he discussed Kasabian’s slot at Hard Rock Calling festival this summer he said: ‘I hope ours is the most talked about performance of the weekend, but that would be a miracle because The Rolling Stones are playing Glastonbury.’

I would tend to think that he is guessing but maybe not.

    • All kicking off in N Ireland, all aided and abetted on videos that get circulated on social media and Elon Musk and Tommy Robinson telling people to take to the streets. Social media needs regulating same as publishers, if they have algorithms that push whatever to people then they are effectively publishers anyway. The problem is just going to get worse and worse.

    • That’s actually one of the clearest rundowns I’ve seen, cheers. The transport setup sounds way smoother than most festivals, and the short queues alone make it sound worth it. The barn capacity thing is good to know though, missed sets like that can be frustrating if you’re not prepared.
