BBC coverage to be given the "Olympics treatment"

Have just noticed a press release about the BBC's provision of live music and a paragraph about Glasto caught my eye:

At Glastonbury, for the first time music fans will be able to choose from simultaneous live streams from all the major stages throughout the festival, allowing viewers to choose their favourite bands as if they were there. We will be offering the slickest and most comprehensive mobile coverage to date as we expect the numbers tuning in on mobile and tablet could reach 50 per cent – beating even the record 37 per cent who watched last year’s Radio 1 Hackney Weekend.

I'm pleased and yet don't think it will have a huge impact on me as someone who actually goes to Glasto. It's great news for people watching at home though because it looks like they'll be coverage of all the major stages (which surely has to include West Holds and maybe even the Acoustic stage)

The big hope is that all of this footage will be available to watch on the website for a decent while after the festival (I need a few weeks of watching Glasto highlights to get over the pain of having to leave Glasto!)

Entire press release is here for those interested:

I don't reckon it will include West Holts and Accoustic though, especially Accoustic which can be quite empty at times.

I expect this to be the standard stages they usually offer on Red Button, just slightly fuller coverage.

I wouldn't expect Olympic standard as that required a lot of resources that the BBC can't really dedicate or pull off in a field in the middle of Somerset.

Ah Jesus why don't they just fuck off and let us enjoy the festival?

Any sort of escapism element of the festival has been ruined. We're not in a fucking goldfish bowl. c**ts dolling themselves up in case they're on TV, spending the entire gig trying to catch the attention of the cameras, dickheads texting me telling me that The Kooks look great and I should go round to see them and so on.

It will probably be all red-button which means you cant press record whilst there to be able to watch it back when we get home! Apart from an hour with Zane and Edith that will be on every night not showing any of the festival just how cool it is to be back stage :(

This year people when ever you see a camera be on your worst behaviour :haha::fuck::ninja:

This is brilliant news.

Hopefully this will mean they can do away with the stages and tents and just have multiple big screens so those of us who have actually managed to get tickets can watch it all on the red button while we are actually there. I can’t wait to get there so I can watch myself LIVE at Glastonbury and see how my carefully chosen outfit looks on TV!

can the BBC please fuck off giving exclusive TV content via the red button to two of this country's biggest tax avoiders?

It's bad enough that what's being broadcast will be full of such self-serving w*nkers, but for it to be broadcast by the same makes it twice as bad.
