I think people are seeing this from a different perspective from me; I'm sure the BBC aren't upping their coverage to show more posers in the crowd. If anything this should just focus on what's on the stage.

Also, given tickets have sold out, it's not as if this is going to encourage anyone to go this year because there's now more chance of getting on camera.

I see!

Suggest you look at YouView or Freesat as alternatives - plus my understanding is that red button on Freeview should now be a lot better i.e. no different than on Sky.

yeah, cos the whole of the country should change their set-up from the most widely used and publicly funded system just so they can receive the same publicly funded broadcasts as everyone else. ;)

The BBC is great, but if they're not able to broadcast via the national broadcast system that the licence fee is partly there to fund then they shouldn't broadcast that thing at all.

Worse than that, what they're essentially doing is using public money to encourage people to go and pay Branson or Murdoch money, and undermining their own future.

More coverage means more interest - basically a three day long ad for Glastonbury Festival. It won't mean more demand this year, but next year just make sure you've got your refresh finger well oiled.

The BBC makes and broadcasts lots of very good stuff, but the best bits aren't what the public wants to watch, which is why instead of some of the best stuff on BBC 3 and 4 being shown, Miranda and Mrs Brown's Boys, which are comedic equivalents to a piece of my shit, are given prime time slots.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
