No its not, theres gates with staff on at T, and they close them while a band is playing if its crowded. Not ideal as it means if you want to be near the front you have to get there an act before to get in sometimes, meaning subheadliners can get full of peopl just waiting, moreso than at other fests

At TITP 2010, the gate went a little crazy before Eminem went on stage, They closed the front area and people were going mental, A security guard got hit by bottles and likes, really nasty scenes.

But apart from that it seemed to work.

It sounds to me like Glastonbury is like Leeds in terms of its barrier, which I thought worked much better than TITP. At least it doesn't have the annoying T barrier that Sonisphere had.
