The so called second summer of Love, Oakenfold, Rampling, Amnesia, Ibiza and all that is  30 years ago now.

I find it hard to comprehend that was such a large amount of time has passed since then.

I still remember it like it was yesterday.

This music shaped the late 20th century and continues to massively influence the music vast swathes of humanity listen to today.

ooh lovely, will stick this on later.  i love Ibiza, worked a few summers out there 15 years or so ago and still go back regularly.  i'm getting that itch again for this summer; last trip out was 2015.

That was 15 years after all this and now is 15 years again. All that blows my mind.

when the Romans first saw Stonehenge, it was as old to them as the Romans are to us ;)

though i count myself lucky to have been around to have witnessed what i have.  i can't claim to have been there at the beginning - of house or its ibiza adventures - but long enough.

But the good news is me mate Jordan O'Regan is now playing Kevin's slot, top lad is Jordan from Bristol and makes/plays some class House.  I'll be right down front.

Sorry meant to add, I didn't know the pullout was due to illness, so obv very much hope KS get's well soon.

  • 3 weeks later...

Felt a bit awkward at first, being the first thing and everything, but I ended up feeling thoroughly uplifted by this, and ready for four nights of pure bliss...

    • Kind of crackers how fast this summer seems to be sailing by. But aye, must be some news soon!
    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.

    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
