Why can't they just ban team orders?

I can't be arsed with F1 anymore. Spending 3 hours watching a race only for the result to be manipulated. Or for the winner to apologise for not manipulating the result!

There are no team orders really in Moto GP. Check out this below from 2009. Two team mates, both going for the title. Last lap. This is proper sport.

It was an awesome GP today...

Fact is we now have team orders as much as I don't want them...

Vettel is a c**t and it showed today. Totally out of order.

Rosberg on the other hand came out of today with a lot of class. I truly hope Brawn was being honest when he said they would of done it if the situation was reversed. Time will tell I suppose.

Totally marred what should of been a great win for Webber and a first podium for Hamilton.

I think both teams where right to order both drivers to back off. Race 2 and a lot of good points to bring home.

Shows how much you know... That or you haven't been recently...

The end of the wellington straight into Brookland corner is one of the few over taking spots at Silverstone and its clearly visible from Luffield....

I get a three day grandstand ticket every year and I can sit in any stand on the Friday and Saturday and I have sat in every stand and its deo the best stand on a race day.

Whos over doing anything? Been a fan my entire life. Tolerated team orders in the past as isolated incidents. I understand the reasons though but we're losing the "sport" element. The Massa "Fernando is faster than you" incident in Germany a couple of years ago really pissed me off and turned what should've been a truly great sporting moment into a really sour tasting incident. Especially after Massa's injury. Coming back, with a metal plate in his head, to win his first GP since his comeback. The guy nearly died racing for Ferrari and then hes asked to move aside? Nah. Not having that.

Its gone beyond the acceptable level for me now. 3 hours ruined. They should just 100% make it a team sport really. At least we know what we're getting in that case.

i think its the fear of what happened in 2010 turkish GP, and like some of said, its early in the season its better just bank the points? think Vettel is out of order, but then again, hes paid to win races...

Be intersting to see what they do with Vettel, he may have been right in thinking it was daft but openly ignoring such requests is likely to cause serious issues within the team.

Can anyone shed some light as to why he was told to stay behind Webber?

    • Wasn't just me who thought it was either oversold or inadequately setup for the event then? For Pride, over the weekend, where there's also acts in the large blue marquee that was to the right of the "arena" (for want of a better term), it's probably much better as people are dispersed more. Thought the band were great, as was Nick, though he was clearly struggling with his voice at times.
    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
