It's more likely FR don't feel Biffy can headline R&L after spending this summer playing 2nd at various other fests which even before their arena tour was their biggest doubt unlike Flo who has spent time away from the fests.

I think a proper arena tour would solidify Biffy's status as a proper headliner even more... their last arena tour only contained what I would call 5 proper arenas (both Hull and Plymouth aren't any bigger than Brixton Academy)... I think if they do Cardiff, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle, Glasgow and Aberdeen they will have a very decent arena tour behind them

Biffy not headlining doesn't equal Mumford headlining. FR will book acts they think can headline, it isn't a must that there be at least 1 new headliner or limit themselves to booking just 1 new headliner as both have happened multiple times before.

still not sure they are now, nothing until Puzzle except the odd song bothers me. I don't think they'll skip R&L as they said they'll play loads after this year but headline I don't see.

I always kind of doubted them as a headliner in reality...they play to damn much to get a major fest to take a chance on them. (Play less = more demand = makes up for being smaller!)

Just to point out to people, apparantly according to a guy on Download forums, a source has told him The Prodigy to play a 2 date stint at Brixton Academy in december. Someone said the other day that they thought was december when I suggested it earlier next year so might be some truth to it?

hmmm. that's pretty annoying.. I'd much rather see them on a smaller stage to be perfectly honest. I'm starting to wonder if, regarding their roots, I even want them to be doing these big gigs!

That's a massive arena tour!!! One of the biggest I've seen for a while. They're gonna headline another major within the next two years.. possibly IOW or Download in 2014.. still hoping they will headline Reading but the tour does seem too late on
