I'd prefer him as a NME headliner actually. I just think he'd be the perfect sub to Jack White.

Disappointed Sky Arts are only showing three PJ songs, wanted to watch more of their set.

To be honest, he's not headlining Rock Wertcher, he's playing 3rd down and at Lollapalooza he's headlining but it's only actually 1 hour 15 mins so Reading could offer him a co-headline slot? They'd probably need to do that, and from the suggestions going around next year, Biffy would be the only one I can see taking that time but I can;t see him co-head at R&L but headline T.

I think Jack White could headline on his own. If Meg was there with him there'd be no questions asked, so why can't he headline? He sold out Brixton and Hammersmith (10,000) in minutes, so he could easily play arenas, if he wanted to (not that he needs to, to be headline material imo). Also he could be the 'indie' headliner that there seems to be every year.

I can't see Biffy Clyro headlining next year, given they're subbing Download and IOW, it'd just make it look weak. They'll probably do '14.

The answer to your argument above is why can't Noel G when Oasis would?

Don't think you can use Biffy subbing IOW and Download either. IOW is across the water so away from any fest here and they are subbing a huge band, a huge headliner, at Download, Metallica apparantly asked them. I think saying them not to headline next year is just next year, it'd look weak the following? Bands need their chance at some point.

Noel could headline and I think he will when his next album comes out. Probably not at Reading, but V, TITP, IOW etc.

To me, that just says Reading can't book the big bands anymore, by booking bands who haven't headlined rival festivals the year before. When the likes of Arcade Fire and MCR headlined, they hadn't played any UK fests in years, so didn't look as bad. If their next album does well and they maintain their popularity then they could headline in '14, especially if they were to headline TITP next year, it wouldn't look weak if they headline a major festival the year before.

Haha, gutted I'm not there right now. :( Would have gone if the undercard weren't so poor. Definitely will not miss them when they're next over here!

Thinking about next year:

Glastonbury - probably not, due them being 'heavy'

Download - perhaps, but maybe not safe enough

V -No

TITP - Could share with an English fest

HRC - Too soon

R/L seems the best option, please Melvin!!!
